2012 is nearly upon us. I'd love to hear your hooping goals and dreams for the new year. Here are mine:

  • Take hula hoops to Tohoku (Japan tsunami disaster area)
  • Produce Guru-Guru Camp (free 7-day hoop event)
  • Choreograph and share the WHD Dance project
  • Continue to host monthly hoop jams at Yoyogi Park & other events
  • Develop and teach at least 4 new workshops
  • Master more partner moves
  • Train my body to its top shape for hooping
  • Increase my dance skills and expressiveness
  • Develop a hoop act with character and story
  • Source reasonably priced hoop supplies in Japan

I'm looking forward to collaborating with my friends Jamie and Joey to create high calibre choreographed LED and Fire shows. We've all been spinning for years but we finally live in the same city and can finally collaborate.

"Like" us on Facebook to see the new demo when it comes out!    Orbital Flame

Getting chest hooping right :(( That would be a good start!

And getting a friend of mine into hooping... she never heard of it (like nearly anyone else in Germany) but I showed her some videos and she was extremely fascinated so I hope I'll finally have someone to hoop with!

Honestly, if I can get the hoop from my knees to waist (without it looking like I'm going into shock), I will be ecstatic!

I would also like to dedicate more time to yoga. Among the numerous benefits, more flexible joints makes for smoother hooping.

I'm still a baby hooper, lot's of room to grow. But that's what it's all about.

Good luck to everyone with their goals and aspirations this year <3

This spring my husband and I are launching Carnival Lights and Rhythm. We'll be offering DJ services as well as LED hooping and fire performances (hoop and fans). So most my goals are related to that project: purchasing fire insurance creating a 30 minute variety show (incorporating hooping, my husband's magic, and audience participation) are the top priorities. I've been performing with a small local fire troop, but music has been the big drawback. Our DJ didn't show up for our last 2 performances after promising to be there. So once my husband's on board, I'm looking forward to taking our show "up a notch" by fully integrating the performance and music into a seamless performance. I'm also learning to tie balloon animals so we can move into the birthday party demographic. ;-)
