Hi guys,

While hanging out with Brecken; she mentioned that I had some unique moves that fit into the category of 3D* hooping. (Sorry I haven't made a video in long time)  During her workshop, she said that a lot of her concepts were created when trying to learn how to change planes. In my head I thought back to the class I taught when someone first said "How do I get to the Vertical plane?"  I recalled the series of moves I came up with to respond to that questions and all the Axis Switch concepts that I've been playing with for years. At first they all seemed random but I've finally figured out how it all fits together and how one skill builds on the next. Anywayz, I've been thinking of launching a class specifically for this style of 3D* hooping since they all fall into that category.

What do you thinking of the idea?  The class would focus on plane changes and cool contact body spins. Things like Hinge Techniques, Plane Changes, Contact Flips and Combos, the One Handed Helicopter, Arm Wraps, Leg Spins and all the axis stuff would be mixed together and the core concepts would be about freeing our use of space and getting out of the idea hooping as a "vertical" or "horizontal" activity.

* 3D Hooping is a term coined by Rich of Hoop Technique and is defined as: anytime the hoop moves perpendicular to the plane of the hoop. The hoop captures space when doing this which creates 3-dimensional forms. (donut, sphere or column)  Anytime the hoop is capturing space you're 3d hooping.

Here's a video with a few moves that would be included; all the moves that involve the hoop "capturing air", flipping or plan changing dramatically. Let me know your thoughts? I've also been thinking of touring a workshop on these ideas.

Here's a video of some of my original experiments with this idea back in 2009.

I found it too! Can't wait!

Super excited for the performance class, even more so because Revolva is involved as well! I went through my Hoop Technique DVD and found that it actually covers a lot less than I thought and especially with your cool leg axis-spins you should have more than enough material.

I was just expressing a concern as in my experience, the hoop community trends towards unbridled optimism and a "go-for-it" attitude on most ventures, which many times can be wonderfully supportive, but sometimes a little bit of criticism can be helpful too, especially when large quantities of time and energy are involved.

P.S. I'm crazy jealous of your leg work.

DO IT UP!

Yes!!

Go for it... I've loved all the 3-D stuff you've taught me. Lots of fun to throw into flow :)

Yes! that would be so awesome, I would definitely be interested in taking these classes as well as so mnay other ladies i know!

Sounds very interesting! I think you should totally go for it.

I love the move at 2:10!  Very cool!

Woo who! Go for it!!

Yes, Please! I will definitely sign up for it!

First off, I love your hopping! From the first day I started hooping your YouTube videos where what got me started.

Now, I have trouble moving between planes myself and I always feel like it never looks neat and put together when I switch from one to another. So I would love this class because I hate feeling stuck in one plane and I think the idea of 3D hooping is wonderful, like we are hooping in a sphere not just a circle! :) So yes please create this class! Also in an earlier post you mentioned buying one tutorial at a time, I would like that too because most of the time it's hard to get up enough cash for a full class! SO anyway thanks for the great job you are doing! Please continue teaching us your awesome moves!

Ohh! That would be awesome! I stumbled upon "contact hooping" earlier this week just playing around and I'd love to see/learn more! I also love the idea of being able to buy one tutorial at a time...
