I have a 34" polypro hoop and was wondering if it would be possible to add fiber optics to it, and if so how... I know they're bundles of wire/thread, but can I connect them to a battery/energy source and put them in my hoop? Just curious. =}

Thank you!

4 piece "quad" hoop, fiber optic experiment.   I think fiber optic looks really cool, but unfortunately it is not as bright as a normal LED hoop.

Here are some comparisons... LED hoop, Fiber Optic, and then EL Wire

Thanks so much for all the info! Yes, LED hoops are much brighter- I actually do have one... However, it's pretty heavy and cumbersome in crowded places, and I love my polypro so much more! I was just wondering if there's a light fiber optic/EL wire that I could install and remove at my leisure. It looks like fiber optic threads aren't too expensive, either? I don't know much about it, but it would be cool to experiment with them.

How was installing the fiber optic on that hoop?

The way i did it, it was complicated and labor intensive, but I was experimenting so I expected that. :)

You could just thread it with glow necklaces?  This option is not complicated, and not expensive, and not heavy.
