I had a thought awhile back about square dancing and hooping. I know this seems to be a weird connect, but it started me thinking. In square dancing they call the next move. I thought this might be an interesting application towards hooping in a group. We all now different moves and it would be pretty cool to have a group doing them together. Having someone calling out each move and playing with our hoops as a group.

I thought this might be an interesting idea for folks to expand on and hopefully use at hoop jams and other gatherings.

Your input and insight would be awesome and if you try it let us know how it works out!

I love the idea, but it might look messy if you have a mix of "lefties" and "righties". Just a thought. :o)
Oooohh I think I might use this for my hoop class. Sounds like a great game and a good way to practice transitions into other tricks! Great idea, thanks
you could have lefties and righties pair up and then you would have mirror images. And it might make it look even more like a "dance."
Oh that reminds me of a great video... it's poi, not hooping, but so cute, & the moves made me think of square dance!

Reminds me of tribal bellydance sorta, cool idea!
This sounds like a great idea.

I'd play. :)
I think some fun activies to spice up a hoop jam would be a neat idea. I don't know much about square dancing, however some great ideas for other hoop activies is a great idea.
Your welcome! I hadn't thought about the applications it might have in a class setting. I hope you and your class enjoy it!

Happy hooping!!
My sweetie and I something similar. I hoop and am learning fire fans, and he spins poi and staff. We often face each other with different props, and try to mirror each others moves. Its a great way to expand your horizons.
Makes sense! Sound like an awesome class, especially if partners were involved!
If tractors can do it, hula hoopers can!

(I've seen it in real life with my own eyes!) lol
I am going to use this idea in our classes that we are working on starting. :)

We will probably expand upon it.

Great idea! Especially with partners.
