You're comparing the most cost effective LED with one of the most innovative LED hoops of our time, it's kinda no comparison. I've played with multiple Atomics (mine is on it's way) and I've played with multiple Moodhoops too and they're awesome. Their hoops are quick, simple, easy and they have the most amazing customer service. A 33" Moodhoop has 20 LED whereas the Atomic hoop has nearly 100 LEDs. The Atomic has like 90 and the Moodhoop has zero. The Atomic hoop plugs into a charger, no battery required, so someday after you hoop your heart out, there is the possibility of having to replace the thing if you use up all the charges in the battery. Moodhoops uses a rechargable battery that pops out and is stuck on a wall charger. Fair warning, if you lose your Moodhoop charger/battery...those hoops ONLY work with that battery and that battery only works with that charger.
 

They're really both awesome for completely different reasons and this isn't really a fair comparison.

Personally, I would say, get a Moodhoop. Choose one that's already made and affordable that you like. This way you'll figure out what style of LED you like (slow or fast changing rainbow, or strobe and things like that). Once you hoop with that for a while then you can save up for an Atomic if you so choose. Who knows, you might end up wanting a PSI or Lighted Lifestyles with two-circuits of your color design as opposed to pre=set modes instead of your Atomic once you understand the way the illusion of LED tracers and whatnot.

I'd say start with a Moodhoop, and go from there. :)

im def leaning towards the moodhoop! thanks guy. i just dont know which one...many choices !

The blaze by moodhoops is just perfect for a first LED. I'm sort of a beginning hooper, but my very advanced hoop instructor took it for a spin and fell in love! I'm very inept, but here are some videos of me with my blaze...

 

 

 

I would recommend asking them to sand the outside of the hoop. I didn't and I found the hoop rather slippery. I wrapped clear Nexcare tape around it and got a much better grip with seemingly little loss to the light effect.

My Prism is absolutely stunning and one of my close friends has the Blaze which is lovely as well. I'm not sure what your price range is but since you were considering the Atomic I'm assuming you have a bit to play with? If you're not sure what to get, email Moodhoops. They are the most helpful people and extremely friendly, I can't stress how outstanding the customer service is. And their custom hoops are reasonable. I got a quote on one for $149+ s&h and I paid $150 for my Prism because I got next day delivery. So really for being able to pick all your own light colors, they're very reasonable. I'm also sure they would verbally help you decide what it is you want since this is your first LED.
