Hey everyone! I am going to meet a friend of mine in LA at the end of this month, but I am arriving one night early and want to hostel it near a beach. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have never travelled, stayed in a hostel, or gone anywhere alone before, so this is a new experience for me and I am super excited! I was looking at a hostel on Venice Beach, but I also hear that it is not very safe to be at night. I also looked at Hermosa Beach Hostel but it looks a little boring lol.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience?? We will be in a hotel the rest of the trip (paid for via her company, yay!) and I can't afford to stay there on my own budget. At least if I am at a hostel I can meet some people for the evening. I do not get in to LA until early evening so I don't have too much time but I want to make the most of it!

Any ideas or advice are greatly needed and appreciated!
