I'm thinking about getting a Hoopnotica Travel Hoop. Anyone experience with this hoop?

I have one and I love it!
Take a look at our collapsible, you can customize it any way you wish in 4 styles and 13 colors. We make every hoop to order here in the USA.

I bought one, and I had to learn to like it. At first (when I was a complete newbie) it was terrifyingly large, and felt weirdly bendy. Now that I'm more experienced, I feel much more comfortable with it. However, I still find it difficult to break down, so I might look for a travel hoop that comes apart more easily. I usually need a key to press into the slots and release the connectors.

The only other hoop that's semi-travel-ish is Body Hoops weighted (2 lbs.) Infinity hoop. I made a video of me hooping with it that you can check out here. I prefer the Infinity to the Hoopnotica hoop, but it's much heavier. I like that, though!

All that to say . . . it depends on what you are looking for. But for me, beginner or otherwise, the Infinity is my travel hoop of choice.
If you're talking about the one that comes apart in pieces, I had one, but found it a bit heavy for my taste. But I am a light hoop lover, so you might not mind the weight if you're not. It was not particularly quick to assemble & disassemble either. One thing that is very nice about it is that it's grippy as all get-out!

I ended up giving it to my sister, who wanted a heavier hoop. But then she hurt her shoulder using it! (She does have joint trouble in general though-- she hurt her arm scrambling eggs once.)

Looking back on that answer it doesn't look very helpful at all! Sorry about that-- wish I could give you a more definitive answer.
I prefer Troo Hoop's collapsible Quattro hoop!

The buttons are easier to push on the troohoops. And if you have any trouble with your hoop, like if something breaks, TrooHoops has great customer service and they will fix it for you.
I have to agree with Joan; disassembling the Hoopnotica isn't easy. It was my first hoop, and after a couple of days of fussing with it and scraping the tape when it dropped, I moved on to other hoops. I now have a collapsible (infinity) hoop made by LoLa (http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheHipRevolution). I've only collapsed it a couple of times, but so far so good.
