I have made collapsible hoops before but they've been 100 PSI.  A girl wants me to make her 160 PSI 36" infinity style collapsible hoop.  I thought it would be no problem because I know how to make them with 100 PSI.  I have made this hoop three times now and it is really starting to cost me financially, and to be frank, it's making me angry.
When I make 100 PSI collapsible hoop I cut the hoop to the size that I want and directly across from the first cut I put another one.  I then put a connector on both ends, and wham-bam there's a collapsible hoop.   Easy and simple enough.
The first time making this 160 hoop there were gaps where the connectors are when the hoop is collapsed.  This means when the hoop is fully collapsed it looks as if the tubing is going to pop off the connector
The second time I tried to make the hoop I cut off one of the barbs on each end of the connectors because I thought maybe the problem was that the connectors were too long.  Yea, when I collapsed the hoop it popped off.
The third time I made it just the same way I made it the first time and once again there was a huge gap.
I have had to buy more tubing and now I am out of connectors.  Any advice would be great.

Hey, I make these types of collapsibles with the 25mm tubing but I want to make these types of collapsibles with the thinner 20mm tubing. Can anyone out there in this hoop world share with me where I can get tubing from that is suitable to fit inside the 20mm tubing for the thin snap button collapsibles. Pleeeeeeeeeaase?? Pretty pretty please. Thank youuuuu :)

that's awesome, i guess it really is about the connector. do you know if the 125 psi is ok to collapse into infinity?? i haven't tried it but am interested in making some for personal use.
I am interested in this topic... I tried to make my first one with 160 tubing and I could not get it to collapse. I read that you have to be forceful, maybe I am just not being agressive enough. I don't know if my connectors have a name but they are light grey in colour and about 5 inches long w/ribs on each end.
I make my own infinity style hoops out of 160 PSI tubing. I make my own special swivel connectors and have never had any problems. I rivot the tubing onto the connector and I've never had the tubing fly off.

I sell pre-made infinity hoops without tape if anyone is ever interested... saves you from having to source tubing and making your own connectors.
