So I know the makers of cosmicfiredance.com and let me tell you that Shakti of Cosmic fire taught the hoop drum people her design, athough since they have slightly modified it is really just about the same hoop. If you want four wicks you just need to email them and I am sure that they will do it. I personally would go with just cause its the same well made hoop for a bit less. But that is just me. :-D Hope this helps your understanding a bit of the companies.
thanks guys i reallyappreiate this info bc i have talked to shakti and we have been talking abt making a custom one for me and i was just looking to make sure there wasnt anything else. you guys are a great help thanks so much.
HOOP DRUM!
Cosmic.
This is a serious toughie! I have used a cosmic fire hoop(not lit mind you) at HoopConvergence and fell in love, but have yet to purchase a fire hoop for myself. As Laura put it earlier, I know Shakti gave some insight as to how Jewels of HoopDrum makes her hoops and they use pretty much the same design. I think I would go with CosmicFire only because, unless I am totally mistaken, they have been building them a little longer and have worked out alot of bugs. I do love both of those women more than words can express, so it would be a tough personal choice for me. Good luck!
My friends and I just received our cosmicfire hoop in the mail yesterday... featherlight 36'' diameter 5(2'') wicks

Haven't burned it yet..

Tonight is the night!

I can hopefully give you a good opinion soon : )
So...my friends and I all had a go last night with the hoop from cosmicfire.

Although the hoop is a "featherlight" style, it is slightly heavy. It is made with 100psi 3/4'' tubing, but there are 5 wicks that add the weight. We also got the 2'' wicking, so if you got 1'' it may be lighter, but the burn time/flame size might be affected. They do have an even lighter style, so to speak, but it appears to be just clear tubing--no tape--and it cost $30 more. To make it relative, the hoop felt like it was made with 160psi 3/4'' tubing. It is 36'' in diameter.

However.. the weight had no affect on how awesome the hoop was! We used the camp fuel/lamp oil mixture and we got nice sized, bright flames that had about a 4.5 to 6 minute burn time. We let the hoop "rest" in between our burns and all got a solid amount of time with it. We were also able to chest hoop, barrel roll, knee hoop, do the vortex, and isolate it with relative ease. I really like the flexible wicks on the hoop and it is made very well.

The only comparison I have is to the Spinsterz collapsible fire hoop that a friend had and I used for my first burn a few weeks ago. I thought it was really heavy (it is also about ~39'' in diameter) and I didn't have a lot of freedom in my movement.

When my friends and I get more comfortable in the fire hoop (could be soon, who knows) we might get the magic pro hoop from cosmicfire to experiment with it!
This is exactly what I needed to hear. I've been debating between various hoop brands, trying to make my own, and everything else, and your comment was super helpful. My worry in buying one of the "super light" hoops from Cosmicfire is that I didn't want it to be TOO light-- but I have no idea how much the wicks weigh, so I didn't know what to do!

But if it's comparable to a 160 psi 3/4 inch hoop, that's just perfect. That's exactly what I'm looking for. Yay, I'm so glad you posted this!! I know what I'm asking for for Christmas!! :D
see I used the clear, small version and it was pretty light. Like I said before, it wasn't burning and dry but the spines were shorter, but not short enough to be uncomfortable.
yeah we went with the featherlight because we thought it would be sufficiently light.. and since we are new at it maybe the magic pro is something we should "graduate" to : )

we did get the shortest spine length though. felt totally comfortable with them. watching each other do it though... it looked like the flames were just rolling all over us !! it was crazy!

can't wait for you to try it with us!!
that is just what i needed! thanksfor that detail description of course it is a fire hoop so i cant always have things light as my led or my reg hoop. the details on the wick length were very helpful b/c thats another thing i ws confused abt. i think ill take the four spoke hoop though just b/c im fire scared lol ill ease into more spokes when i get comfy . that just means i can buy morehoops and i have a reason to tell my bf hah! i wonder if you can put tape on the magic pro..hmm... more things to ponder .
Isn't the magic pro the collapsible one? And is this the one that feels like 160 psi 3/4? Cuz that's what I want to hear!
