I have to say, I was extremely disappointed with my Eco-Groupe experience. I was looking for a reasonably priced, single setting LED-nothing fancy, I just wanted something that lit up and was durable enough to last. Someone suggested this company to me, and I read several positive reviews before purchasing so I was confident with that decision. Their website even proudly states a two-year no-questions-asked warranty and super fast shipping:
"As of 1/1/2012 there is no more waiting time to receive your hoop! There is not a competitor out there that offers what we do. We will have your NEW hoop Shipped within 24 hours of your purchase. Yes, that’s right, no more waiting 7-30 days as you will with other companies."

"We have always put our customer first here at Eco Groupe. But this year, we want to do it even better than before. We will guarantee you the best customer service in the industry.  If you call - we’ll answer, if you e mail - well write back, if your hoops has any issues - we will fix or get you out a new one faster than anyone, guaranteed. The bottom line is, we want your satisfaction and will do whatever it takes to get it, keep it and sustain it more so than anyone who calls themselves our competitors, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. "

So nothing to lose, sounds awesome, right? Well....

I purchased my Moonshine Monsoon LED on April 23rd. The first problem occurred, at no one's fault, during the payment transaction. For whatever reason, when I purchased through Paypal the system reverted to my old address, even though I had my current address set as "Home." I realized the mistake immediately and went straight to contacting Eco-Groupe so that it could be fixed in a timely fashion. I both emailed and called, just to be sure, and I initially received a prompt response to both methods that ensured the address had been corrected and that there was no problem. I was told to look for a tracking number within the week. The week came and went and I still didn't have a tracking number, so I emailed another request for one. I know this season is especially busy for hoop-makers, so I was willing to wait, but I wanted to be sure my hoop was headed to the right place due to the Paypal mishap. They eventually sent the number and explained that a late battery shipment caused the delay, which was still understandable (although some kind of notification would have been nice so I wasn't left wondering if I'd just lost my money), but there was no destination address so I still couldn't be sure it was headed the right way. Finally, ten days later on May 3rd, my hoop arrived--to the wrong address! Sure enough, nothing had been corrected and I had no choice but to drive across town hoping that my hoop would still be at whatever stranger's apartment. Thank goodness nobody was home and my hoop was still nestled at the front door, so I didn't even have to knock! Once I had the hoop in my hands I was happy despite all of the confusion. I noticed quite a bit of over-sanding at the base of the connector piece, and the size was mcuh larger than the 35" described in the ad, but I'd waited so long already that, to be honest, I didn't really care.

I enjoyed my new LED for a whole four days before things went wrong. I brought my "easy travel" hoop along on its first-and-only trip, about an hour and a half away, for my boyfriend's band's show. It warped a little on the drive, so my boyfriend put it together and attempted reshaping it by pushing the sides in (with very little force, keep in mind), and, sure enough, the connector piece snapped at the over-sanded weak point in such a way that I couldn't even disconnect the hoop. It was simply unusable. I contacted Eco-Groupe again, explained what happened, and asked about the repair/replacement process. No one responded for several days, and I had an event coming up, so I sent another slightly more urgent message. Up until this point I had been very polite and understanding, and I still tried to be in the next message while at the same time making my frustrations with the situation clear. This time I got an apologetic response letting me know that they were determined to turn my experience around. I was told to simply forward my address and they would immediately send a replacement along with a few extra batteries for the trouble. That seemed more than fair, so I sent the address again and waited. And waited. And waited..After a week I sent a tracking number request to which I received no response. I tried calling and received no response. I sent another email explaining that the out-of-town event that I wanted this hoop for was quickly approaching and included my address again, no response. I sent two more "Wtf is going on?!" emails, neither of which I ever received a response to, and then resorted to calling the contact phone number every day until I went out of town Memorial Day weekend. I left several voicemails with my address included. At no point did anyone answer my phone calls, and I attended the event hoopless. I returned home to a voicemail letting me know that my replacement hoop was ready to ship and that all that was needed was my address! What?! Didn't I give it to you, I don't know, 50,000 times already?! I bit my tongue and sent my address, once again. The next day--just a few days ago--I got a phone call letting me know that my hoop finally shipped out. It arrived yesterday, and I was at least pleasantly surprised to find that this one is the size I originally wanted, but unfortunately it's not the hoop I ordered at all! I believe this one is even the less expensive Midnight Rose hoop, which is much less awesome than the Moonshine Monsoon that broke. Apart from the connector piece being shite, the Moonshine wasn't so bad for the price. This new one, however, is not only a little boring comparitively, but it also rattles, the light is dim, and it flickers on and off, sometimes even goes out completely for no apparent reason. I also feel like I notice the weight difference where the battery is a lot more with this one. I imagine I just got whatever extra hoop was laying around. What's worse is that somehow, somewhere down the line a few extra batteries for the trouble turned into no battery included at all, so I had to cut my broken hoop open with pipe cutters to fish the other one out. I tried very hard to give the benefit of the doubt, but now it's just ridiculous. I feel like I was as good as ignored by this company. I'm so frustrated by now that I don't even feel like trying to contact them again. Some people have had no problems with them, but my experience was so bad that I felt compelled to at least write a warning. I really hate to give a negative review (I think this is my first one), but their website makes them sound ideal, and I wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through so much trouble.
Needless to say, I'd suggest passing up Eco-Groupe/Electric Lifestylez when shopping for an LED hoop. You could risk it, I suppose, and it might just work out for you, but to be on the safe side you might want to keep looking!

They DO, however, have some really neat looking LED hair clips available for purchase, too. You might have better luck with those. :)

Oh my goodness gracious. Ive been thinking about buying a Moonshine Monsoon for a while now thank u so much for posting this! suggestion: If u need someone better to trust with your order, timing, and quality especially, Citiva Creationz on Etsy.com is amazing!!! good deals, good people.

No problem! I mean, $80 and over a month later I still don't have a satisfactory LED. Not worth it at all. Thanks for the tip, though! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I was actually leaning toward one of her hoops when I was still shopping around. I definitely made the wrong decision on that one. But live and learn. :)

I ordered a hoop from them for my first LED hoop (Hooplessly in Love).  I thought it was cheap enough that I could test my skills and then decide to get a more expensive one.  You definitely get what you pay for here, it's very generic, rattles a little, the connector is funky, and 3 of my LEDs have gone out (I bought it 2 months ago).  Also, the minute I got it I noticed it wasn't as bright as other hoops I've seen. I've emailed Derek and hopefully the hoop will be repaired.

For future buyers, I would say that if you are wanting to test an LED hoop and see if it's for you, try the one I got because it was only $35.  The other hoops they have are like $60-70 and you can get a MoodHoop for that price!  I have a MoodHoop and a hoop from Citiva Creationz, and the quality FAR exceeds the electric lifestylz hoop.

Wow, I'm so glad this thread happened! Thanks everyone for your reviews.

I was thinking of getting one of their hoops too, as my second LED hoop... My first was a Moodhoop and I might just stick with that... I'm really glad someone came out and compared them :D

I am so terribly sorry about your experience! I have heard nothing but terrible things about this company. I actaully started my own this pass spring. and can promise good service and great hoops; check it out!!

I won a contest through them.

Haven't gotten my hoop yet, but have planned on meeting up with them to get it.

I hope I don't have the same issues.

Sorry to hear!

I won the contest as well, still waiting on my hoop:(

My friend bought the Watermelon slice and ended up getting Midnight Rose.

First time she went to use it it stopped working.

:/

oh no. got my 1st LED from this company and haven't received it. will know next week if i'm one of the lucky ones or if it will be the same sad story!

i'm now thinking i should get one from moodhoops as a back up for when this first one fails!

This company sells LED hoops in eBay too, under the shop name "led_designs1".

You're still lucky, your case got resolved. My hoop was never shipped, was promised a refund, and now at 30 days and counting... i have not received my refund. :(
