Hey crafty hoopers!
I'm thinking about reopening my ETSY shop. I ran one for about a year, but that was more than two years ago. I sold macramé jewelry, bags, and belts. Did pretty well too, though it took a lot of time to keep the store updated and to network.
So I'm wondering how business is going in YOUR shop. What trends have you noticed--especially if you've been with ETSY for a couple years? Are folks buying inexpensive items or dropping the dollars for OOAK items? What networking tools do you use? What promotions work best? How do you help your shop stand out in the crowd?
Thanks, friends.

Hey hoopers! I launched my Etsy store this week if ya'll would like to check it out. Thank you so much for your feedback. I've really enjoyed peeking through your shops too. If you're interested in TRADING, let me know!
Behold! Tangled Macrame!

I've been running my Etsy store for about a year and a half now and have had 66 sales which averages out to about 3-4 per month. Sometimes it seems like things are going really slow, and then they pick up for a little while.
When I first opened it, I did some advertising on Facebook, Google, and YouTube for a month or two but it got too costly. Now I have it linked to my website Nova Hoops and my Facebook Fan Page and I think that's pretty useful.
I've noticed with my store that a lot of people buy my budget hoops. I also have some non hoop items that I've tried to push more but not with much luck. In the beginning I also did a lot of discounts and discounted shipping, and since I've raised my prices I think I've had less sales, but I'm okay with it. I honestly do more business on eBay, but I still love Etsy.
I think having good photos, and a variety of them, is very helpful. Good communication with your buyers and anyone who messages you (obviously). And I think consistent pricing is helpful too.
Here is my store:
Good luck with you new store opening!
