it's exactly what it is :) move very quickly cause your skin is literally on fire.. haha. it's like "fleshing" and fire transfers that a lot of fire eaters do.
you can do it by grabbing an unlit wick and getting a small amount of fuel on your fingers, touching it to a lit wick to light it, then using the fire in your hand to light another unlit wick. or the same way she did it in the video.

Permalink Reply by Lee Snow on November 14, 2011 at 10:23pm This isn't a beginner move by any means but Olive Oyl has the basic idea lined out there. Like she said you ARE lighting fuel on you skin on fire. But it doesn't hurt as bad as you'd think, as long as you're quick. But take that with a grain of salt I'm a welder and fire performer and have a high tolerance for hot things

Permalink Reply by copesetic chinacat ;) on November 15, 2011 at 11:43pm i did try the move a few times at a more intimate burn with my fire hoop, i successfully got a few wicks lit but a couple times i couldn't get enough fuel on my hands for my fingers to stay lit. i think only a few more practice runs and it will merge into my fire "performances".

let us know how it goes teehehe I love doing it!

good to see you on hoopcity, Lee!

Permalink Reply by misty moon on October 11, 2012 at 2:19pm Oh, I wanna try this! In addition to that light up techique ha anyone tried to spin off while the hoop is already lit? Saw a video of someone that made a line of fire on the ground while spinning off. Anything I should know before I dive into this?

Use white gas. It will not work with lamp oil, or a mixture. I would recommend playing around with a pair of torches to get used to fleshing technique. You pretty much just touch the lit wick then touch the others. You want the fire to sustain on your fingers long enough to light the other wicks. With white gas the wicks should light instantly. If you find that the fire is going out before you can get your hand from the lit wick to the unlit wick, then touch one of the unlit ones first to get a little fuel on your fingers first. Fleshing is all about execution. Hesitation will cause the fire to go out and increases your chance of getting burned. I hope this helps!
