As far as the boyfriend issue... It makes me cringe when you say "So how am I suppose to convince him..." because I have soo been there. If your boyfriend doesn't trust you, you are going to have problems far beyond this festival. Unless you have done something already in this relationship to compromise his trust.. he is just being jealous and manipulative. You don't deserve that. A relationship is based on absolute love and trust. I would encourage you not to settle for less.

I have been going to festivals and dead and Phish shows for about 20 years now. Nothing at all to worry about. Be sure to pack for different types of weather ( I mean pack for rain - mud). Bring food you like so you don't spend too much money. Be prepared to not have great shower access. Definitely bring extra toilet paper for the porto potties. Have good plans with friends for getting lost from each other and meeting back up. And absolutely bring your hoops! There will be so many hoopers there.
I have never been pressured to do a single drug at a festival. All drug use has been very much my own choice. The only thing really prevalent is the balloons - everything else you have to look for. You don't need to do anything you don't want to. I will be there with my sis who is doing NA right now - totally possible to be drug free at a festie. You can tell your boy that there is even a group called Warfrats that are sober dead heads - and now festie goers. They all have a great time.
Really late at night it can get a bit sketchy in some parts of the campgrounds - just stick to your peeps and it will be just fine. Some people put a little luggage lock on their tent while they are at the concert just in case......
Be aware that from the campgrounds into the actual music site you WILL be searched..just keep it mind.

There is an All Good group on here so you can check that out to find hoopers to meet up with.

I certainly hope after your first festival you go back a slightly different person. That's the idea of doing new things. Growth. Tell your boyfriend to breathe and that you love him and then go be happy and carefree.
