Does anyone know the name or type of Flexible wire used to make fire wicks for a hoop. I want to make flexible fire wicks for my hoop.

I made a hoop with threaded rod I found at a local hardware store but its too heavy and stiff. They said they flexible wire i might be looking for is called aviation wire. I looked it up online and there are all kinds and different amounts of wire twisted together, some thick, some thin...

can anyone help me out or direct me to where i could purchase the wire?!

Thanks a millllllion :)

ps. I never used flexible wicks, when you spin do they wobble/bend so much they touch the hoop??

we use 1x19 stainless steel aircraft cable .125" width ...but it's not really a simple thing, and you need a hefty crimping tool to be able to swage pieces onto the cable.  In the end, I believe its a way better bang for your buck to just buy a firehoop.  Even at $150 - $200, there is so much R&D that has already been done, years of testing, a sense of security, big tools to buy, plus other awesome options that are impossible to do on your own at home.  check out Synergy Firehoops, we've got removable-cable-spine designs, colored tubing, and almost a decade of experience.  holler at me if you have any questions :)
