Before you go on, settle your mind and activate your body with some non-hooping skill. Juggling, yoga stretches, something like that.
Also, and more importantly, practice until your body knows your routine and your brain isn't required. That way, if you get distracted by cameras, applause, etc, your show will go on without you having to think about it.
ive never performed anywhere yet, im still new to hooping but i took my hoop to this party with some bands, etc. on a big property with fields, and there was another hoop girl there too. it was really laid back! its fun to just do it at smaller events like that, you don't feel the pressure as much and you get used to people watching you a little.. ive only done it once, but yeah thats my advice for you :)
Good luck, you'll do beautifully! I was so nervous for my first performance. I taped my routine and practiced it over and over and over...I still use it sometimes when I loose site of what I am doing!
