Can anyone help me with this trick? My Hoop-tress calls it the float up. You shimmy the hoop up your torso, no hands or arms. I just don't get it. I watched Caroleena's video tutorial on it but still... not getting it. Thanks!

That one is a difficult one. But I remember finding this video on YouTube and it helped me a lot! Just practice and practice.. you'll get it. Hope i've helped. :)

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately the video won't play... there seems to be some problem with either it or my connection. Weird. I'll try it again later.
Thanks!
The biggest thing for me is to focus on circular motion rather than two-point rocking. Imagine your body painting the inside of the hoop, making sure to cover every inch. Move as quickly as you can without losing the circle.

Also, be sure you are wearing grippy clothing (or better yet, bare skin) & your hoop is large enough (minimum belly button height) & taped with at least some Gaffer's.

You'll get it-- it just takes practice!
perfect suggestion!! I've been trying this all morning and (thanks to you) I just got it!! :)
Make sure that ur hoop has grippy tape on it....that made the biggest difference for me. And lots of practice....you will get it!! don't get discouraged.
you need to use the inertia of the hoop. right before you try to get it to move upward, slow the rotation of the hoop down. then use your hips to give the hoop a burst of speed (but not too much, its a balance) slinging it upwards. the key is finding the right timing for that moment so that the hoop avoids your breasts. but that is a matter of experimentation. this trick is something you just gotta feel out, but start with that and you'll see what i mean - it'll start to rise up your torso, and you can work it out from there.

I have found that my preferred method of shimmying the hoop from my waist to my chest without using my arms is to increase the momentum of my hoop and move in more of a four-point circular motion (as has been described already like painting the inside of your hoop) and once it shimmies itself to just below my bustline, when there is that opening in front of me, I dip down into my hoop ever so slightly, so when I come back up it is now at armpit level. This is much easier if you hold your arms straight up over your head, perhaps holding one hand with the other. For me it feels like a very deliberate shoulder blade rotation to get that shimmy nice and smooth.
