I'm finally, finally beginning to get the hang of this move, but I think it would be really helpful to have some tunes that are in moderately slow 3/4 time to help me keep the rhythm.  Any suggestions?

I asked Caroleeena & she gave me several great suggestions-- my favorite being Norah Jones "Come Away With Me"-- it's perfect for the rhythm & just such a pretty song too!
when i was getting the hang of it, i tend to be addicted to Bassnectar - bursting.
You know I've been meaning to download that album anyway! Thanks!
OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. I FINALLY GOT IT.

so excited. sorry all caps. almost about to cry!! =) thanks for the bassnectar suggestion, it really helped. OMG.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY AJ!!!! Doesn't it feel great!?

And yeah, thanks for the Bassnectar tip, Carolyn, it's been on my iPod ever since!
I don't do it (the three beat weave) but I think "Zona de promesas" - by Cerati/ Soda Stereo - would be great. It is in Spanish, though, so I am not sure if it will appeal to you.
There are several versions of the song on youtube as well, so you can get different tempos. I love the live version from the "Me verás volver" tour, but the version with Mercedes Sosa is very moving and it is slower, so it might be good for training.
Moreover, given that the three-beat weave seems to be a challenging move, the idea that persisting can bring good rewards in the end (which is what the lyrics are about) seems very fitting. I want to get minis and do the weaves to this song one day!
Thanks so much, this is lovely & perfect! Both versions are beautiful & I look forward to hooping to them. I do wish I could understand the lyrics... I tried to get a translation of them online, but it was obviously mangled. I know just a smattering of Spanish, (enough to know Google got it wrong!) but I love the sound of the language.

My son is teaching English in Spain right now & has introduced me to some wonderful Spanish music (both from Spain & from Latin America). It's always great to expand musical horizons!

And you are right about the 3-beat being challenging... it took me forever to wrap my head around it! I think I started trying in September, got completely frustrated & gave up for a long time. Then in late January I started at it again & I'm finally just now getting the hang of it! I must say it's satisfying after such a long struggle!
I am very glad you liked it.
My Spanish is not perfect but the lyrics are about being broken from losing a battle and having to rebuild oneself, alone, going under the surfaces... and then it basically says in the chorus that there are delays in the process but in the end you get the rewards (he says it in a much nicer way, but this is the idea).
I am sure you will nail the 3-beat weaves and will get much satisfaction from persisting despite the frustrations and lost battles in the journey.
Wow, that does sound inspiring! Thanks again!
whats the three beat wave?!!!!!
It's 3-beat weave, a twin or mini hoop move. Here's a tutorial:
