So I absolutely love my long hair and the way it flows around me when I hoop dance. But sometimes I would like it out of my face while I'm dancing. but I have no idea what would look cute. I'm not good with hair type things. Any links or videos or what not?
Peace and Love <3

I like two braids at the front one on each side pulled back and clipped so most of your hair is down and move around but the stuff that gets in the eyes is secured back in really cute looking way.

Permalink Reply by Moonshadow on September 29, 2012 at 3:32pm I usually wear my hair in a braid to the side, but that makes it impossible to neck hoop. If you need to get your hair out of your way when hooping, just put it up in a high pony or bun. These generally don't get in the way of the hoop.
Permalink Reply by Kimberly Marie of Spinity Hoops on September 29, 2012 at 4:44pm i do a messy bun with a flower clip, like in my profile pic! i suck at hair too, i make my mom do it haha! but its super easy, make a low ponytail and then just twist and bobby pin pieces of hair up, like 5 or so, and then slap a flower on it!

I'm really terrible with my hair too and I hate doing just a pony tail. I found this on pinterest (you might find many more ideas on there). I haven't tried it out yet but I think its super cute. Hope this helps!

I had long hair when I started hooping. I would do lots of ponytails if I didn't want to spend lots of time on it but they didn't always look the most flattering. Otherwise I would braid it, which is always pretty. There's tons of options with braids and it gets the hair out of your face.
Although a little over a year ago I chopped all my hair off because it was getting in the way of my hoops. I donated it. I'll probably grow it out again soon an do the whole process over again. :) Anyway, I like sharing photos. Here's what I did.
My long hair - I'm on the far left. It's normally pretty straight but I'd braided it this day:
My short hair (great for hoopin!). I have an undercut on one side:

As for hairstyles, I perfer a high pony tail myself, so my hair still flows with the music, and to add some flare you can tie a scarf around your pony tail!

When I perform at a restaurant with a higher-end vibe I like to do a half pony, just pulling back the top half of my hair. Cover up the bobby pins or hair band with a sparkly or bright hair flower, bow, or other accessory. Teasing the top of your hair and adding a little volume makes it look more performance ready.
When I'm at things that are a little more relaxed, I usually just put an elastic band or tie a scarf around my head (as in the picture below) and that does a pretty good job of holding my hair out of my face .

I'm a big fan of braids or a big messy bun (that's still securely pinned) myself. I second Cheez Hoops suggestion of checking out Pinterest, tons of great hair ideas there.
