Does anybody out there produce collapsible hoops that are thinner than 20mm? (1/2in)
I have some 15mm hoops that I LOVE, and I'm desperate to have some collapsible ones I can take away with me in the summer.
I have searched high and low, tried to make them myself, and I'm now extending my search to the US and Canada as plumbing supplies are MUCH easier to find over there!
Surely there must be someone out there making thinner hoops?
Thanks so much!

Permalink Reply by Daphne on January 12, 2012 at 1:14pm I make my collapsible hoops with 16mm. outher diameter pex tubing. It works very well. And I really love this tubing to hoop with.
I buy everything in Holland, so I think you can find it in the UK too. I use a 12mm outher diameter pipe to connect it. One side has a pop rivet to hold everything in place and the other side a push button.
Very easy to make.
Permalink Reply by helski on January 13, 2012 at 3:27am Thank you so much Daphne! I am glad to hear that it's possible- I wasn't sure if tubing that thin would take kindly to coiling round!
I am not much of a hoop maker myself but I'll look in to finding these bits. I'm not really sure how you would use the pop rivet and button to be honest, don't suppose you have any photos you could send me? :-)
I know a lot of people that are really in to hoops at this size, so I am a little confused as to why the hoop makers out there haven't caught on yet!
Thanks again x
Permalink Reply by ShrinkInAHoop on January 13, 2012 at 6:50am I'm in the process of setting up an online store catering for UK & European hoopers - I both make hoops and sell all the parts needed to make them. Everything's available - MDPE, Polypro (including the thin stuff), HDPE, pex, rivets, button clips, inserts, the lot.
The actual site's not up and running yet, but I'm sure I can help you out in the meantime - either make what you're looking for or supply the parts. Message me and I'll see what I can do!
...Just realised I know you from Facebook - I'm going to Spain in June too, so know what you're revving up for!
Permalink Reply by helski on January 13, 2012 at 8:19am Woo hoo!
You just made my day! That is SUCH a good idea, I know a lot of people who struggle to find the bits they need in the UK, especially when a lot of hoop makers are so secretive about their suppliers!
What is your name on facebook? I'll message you there :-)

I'm going to be tied up tonight, because I'm getting ready to go up to Gail O'Brien's workshop in Lemington Spa tomorrow and won't be back until very late, but will get back to you as soon as possible after that.
Looking forward to hearing from you - have a great weekend...
