Hey hoopers i was just chatting with sandra and she had a pretty amazing idea. I personally was buying another hoop class to move forward and i wanted to learn a single trick but i meant i had to move backward. which technically its not but im being stubborn and i wanted the next class. Anyways she wrote this idea to me and i wanted to ask everyone as a whole if this would benefit some of you who cant buy a class or if your stuck on a trick that you've learned elsewhere and your not in that class etc
heres what she said and let us know what you think? or if you have alternate ideas.

"How many other people do you think there are that might benefit from the option of being able to have access to single, specific moves? There was a time when I though about having the tutorials available through iTunes like music videos are. Do you think I should look back into that? It would be kind of neat for some people who maybe don't want to take a class but would love that ONE move they can't figure out. "

*Fantastic* idea! And/or one how-to-lesson with the two or three vids that focus on the trick/move. Priced, of course, so a bundled class of several lessons is discounted from the combined cost of individual unbundled lessons. Nice extension of business model for both Sandra and hoopers if demand warrants it.

Another possibility is what the local music fest does with its concert series, you can pick and choose among the lessons to make your own "class," with perhaps a discount for buying individual lessons of your own choice. Say, 10% if you buy 5 at a time rather than one.

It'd come down to a question of how much demand and how much complexity in building/maintaining a more complex sales and support structure.

One issue that would need to be sorted is discussion access. Right now, I think that's done by class, with access restricted to class members. Would there be access to discussions on individual lessons, and how would that be handled?

I like buying the classes, myself, because I can do certain tricks at every level--well, with the exception of Blooming 2, which will be all new. Sandra adds a lot of twists and techniques that I'd either not seen or come up with on my own. There's something to learn at every level. Which reminds me, having worked carefully through the Seeding series, it's time to buy Budding :-).

But I can see where more advanced hoopers or folks who like to mix-and-match might prefer the flexibility of choose-your-own...

i think it is also an awesome idea..!
I love having classrooms and the structure that goes with them...which I think will become more & more apparent as series are completed and "flow" demonstrations are added. However, there are definately some single tutorials I would love to pick up. Maybe clusters of tutorials, like the different leg or chest hooping tutorials (start to finish) would be cool. If it were my buisness I'd think about making single tutorials only available to those who had purchased a class, depending on how the costs evened out. I'm sure iTunes has fees.
They do. : (

It kind of stopped me in my tracks when doing the research into it last year.
I think it's a good idea. Just make sure that you (SaFire) charge enough for the single tutorials. Otherwise, people could potentially load up on tutorials that would constitute a class, and end up paying less. Just looking out for you!

Tangled Macrame has a good thought too, of having them only be available to only hoopers who are enrolled in a class.
YES YES YES-- there's one budding move that's driving me nuts-- the Stirring Jump-In-- but I can't really justify getting the whole class just for that. I'd LOVE it if I could download just that lesson.
Well it sounds like the vote is in.

I'll get the gears turning in my head about a potential way to do this that would be somewhat automated. That would be the nice thing with iTunes is that I could set it up and walk away. If I have to individually e-mail out videos than that could get really time consuming.

Yay! Whatever works best for you-- thank you so much for being such a generous & flexible teacher.
I would definitely go for this. The hooping classes are on my 'to buy' list for when I can save a few pennies (soon, fingers crossed!), but until then I'm using youtube and working things out on my own. This means that when I start the online classes I won't necessarily need to buy the the earlier ones as a group, but there may be a few tricks I haven't come across or would like help with.
