So I know both are breath taking and beyond beautiful but who out there has tried both and can honestly say is the sturdiest and best when it comes to patterns, leds, etc. The phoenix attracted me because of the fact that you are able to customize your patterns not just the sequence and speed like others. If anyone cares to help feel free I would really like to know. Many thanks

If you don't want to wait for a Phoenix, I would definitely go with LED Artistry's Synth over Proton Labs' Helix. :)
It was a long wait for me...I ordered it right after Thanksgiving (so late November) last year and didn't get it until about March 28th, so about 4 months total.
When did you order yours?
I totally agree with Kim's comment on the Synth. I love my Phoenix hoops primarily because I love making up my own designs and am a control freak. But between the Helix and the Synth, I would go for a Synth hands down. I have seen both of them in person and the Synth's patterns are so super cool. The MoodHoops "Future Hoop" looks pretty cool, except that you have to turn it on and off to get to the different modes and have no control over it.
Permalink Reply by keeley breuer on November 28, 2012 at 7:34am Unfortunately, I haven't even placed an order with him yet. We've been in email contact and he says he plans to start taking orders around early December, and then shipping in April...but I can only imagine how many people are in front of me to get on the early december order list.
I've had my bohemian mood hoop foreverrr and I am beyond ready to transition to a smart hoop.
I looked into the synth and it is soo amazing. They'll be taking orders as soon as their site goes up, but i've been reading that the hoop is very heavy, and only comes in a 3/4 HDPE type tubing....since this hoop is so brand new, I'd really like to wait for it evolve a little more, but holy eff those patterns are mind melting.....so regardless it looks like I'll be waiting either way, and stuck with the moodhoop for a few more months....I really appreciate all your help, you've been amazing, and have really helped me solidify my choice for a quality smart hoop. (even if i'll die waiting for it lol)

Just to clarify a couple things, the Synth does come in 3/4 HDPE or Polypro as well as 7/8 HDPE.
On the weight of the Synth, it's really not much different than the other smart hoops on the market and is still lighter than most regular LEDs. To compare, a Bohemian moodhoop such as the one you have, in 33", weighs 15 ounces for the 3/4 HDPE tubing size. The Synth 32" hoop in the same size tubing is 12.5 ounces, which is the weight of a 33" moodhoop in 5/8 polypro. So that is still pretty light, all things considering!

if you go to the website, it redirects you to the spin-fx one, which is putting out the phoenix and phoenix hd
