I know how you feel, although I'm not in Quebec myself (New Brunswick) i do live in a fairly small fairly french town, People round here tend to give you the raised eyebrow look of total confusion when you tell them you hoop (french isn't my first language so talking to people in french surely isn't helping either) and forget about finding hoop making material locally, its like living in a black hole lol, thank goodness for the internet and hoopcity is all i can say :P

Oh yeah!! you are so right about the difficulties of finding the materials. No one here seems to know what polyethylene is. If they do know, they say that 160 psi doesn't exist. And thank god I had the internet to order the tape because this too doesn't seem to exist here.

lol yes, I've made the mistake of asking for 160 psi before, they look at you like your a idiot before telling you that 160 psi tubing doesn't exist.

once, the seller told me I could take 100psi, that I didn't need 160 psi. When I told him I needed it to make hula hoops, he just burst out laughing. lol... at least now, I know where to get my stuff and don't have to go through those awkward moments anymore

I finally found the tubing at home hardware, but I have to special order it. The only problem is that it's 3/4" exterior, so the 3/4 connectors are too big and the 1/2"s are too small. What about you, were you able to find some?
The problem is finding the tape, I still have to order it from the US.

Hi Cathy,
I have not found the tubing so I use the 100 anyways. I bought tape on ebay stores and at identytape, which I find very convenient.

I'm thinking I could buy some tubing next time I go to the States...

good idea! tubing seems to be way cheaper in the States (they say 10 to 30 cents / feet)... here, the cheapest I found was 50 cents for the 100 psi and I had to buy 300 feet, or it would have been 70 cents.
if ever you do buy some in the states... tell me how much it was.
