Any hoopers from Quebec???
Most people I talk to around me have no idea that hooping exists. They find it weird when I tell them I am hula hooping. And when I tell them I am taking hula hooping classes... you should see their reactions... Even children in my class (I teach at elementary school level) don't know what a hula hoop is. Plus, it seems to be very hard to find hula hooping info in French...

so, please, reassure me and tell me there are other hoopers from Quebec.

Have you looked for hockey tape?
I'm in Montreal :) Newbie hooper. Soon I'll be in the market for hooping materials, and if I have a hard time, a collapsible hoop online is my next choice :(
I met Becky here in australia but i think she lives in Quebec.

I don't know where you girls are from, but it St-Hyacinthe, where i live, there is no problem finding the tubing. I got it at Lafferté, a small hardware store right on the 116. They also have the conncetors and all. I use electrical tape, simply, to cover it^^

****What is a Hoop Jam you ask*****
A hoop jam is a community event where people of all ages, sexes & races gather together and spin hoops around their bodies to fun upbeat dance music!

IHOOPU will be providing hoops for non-hoopers to try, but if you have your own hoop please bring it!
There will also be hoops for sale!

IHOOPU certified hoop instructors will be offering free hoop classes from 4:00-4:30pm in Place des Festivals if you would like some instruction prior to the jam.
so, what's up in Quebec? have you found the tubing you needed? if you don't, go in any hardware store (even Canadian Tire has it) and ask for 'pex 3/4 ' (au rayon de la plomberie) ;) it's probably not exactly what psi 160 is, but it works really well for making hoops, and you can find it anywhere. Make sure to not use the connectors they will give you with it though...those will make non-round hoops. the best i've found are the grey plastic ones, about 2 inches long (sorry i'll use French a bit, i don,t know the correct word in english for this) 'avec les filets sur les rebord (comme sur les vis)'. You will need to heat the edges of the tubing to put the connector in, so the inside shape of the tubing will take the shape of the connector and it will old still.
