Hey hoopers!

Just wanted to throw this question out there: Has anyone fire hooped in a light rain before?

I've been living in the northwest for 4 months now and been curious about this since it rains A LOT. I think the fuel could hold out, but I wouldn't want to do anything to damage the hoop itself. Any suggestions or experiences welcome please!

I don't know about hooping in the rain, but I know that when I take my day hoops to the beach, they don't do well in water. >_> Specifically, if there's any deco or grip tape on them, they start to peel off or get gunky. Vinyl is probably okay, and the hoop itself wouldn't be damaged by the rain, but it's the decorative stuff you'll want to be careful for.

sweet thanks for you response!

I know my x use to fire poi in the snow all the time! Even if t was coming down good! I think light rain would be very calming and nice. Wouldn't think it would harm to much.

I have hooped at the beach many times and dropped my hoop repeatedly in the ocean. The tape can take a beating, but after a week at the beach, it does need replacing. I don't think hooping in light rain would do much damage to a normal hoop. I've never used fire so I can't say for that. I do know that after getting very wet (repeated drops in the ocean), the grip tape soaks up more water and I find the hoop much slipperier. I'd be cautious if the hoop got very wet/slippery.
