So I always love hooping outside, but in 100 degree weather I am so lethargic. It makes me sick to my stomach. Does anyone have suggestions or the same problem?

I call it bikram hooping here in NYC. :(

I have ice water with me and take breaks every 5-10 minutes to drink it. Also, I try to hoop later in the evening or early AM. You can also freeze hand cloths with a little water on them and place them on various parts of your body while you're hooping. Or an ice cube at the back of the neck for about 20 seconds to cool down.

Hope it gets cooler! We're at 90+ today here.

I've got the same problem. It's been 100+ degree weather here for at least a solid month with no rain, and that's not going to be changing any time soon. I hate it! It's made me basically stop picking up my hoop for the summer. I don't have an indoor hoop space and if I try to outside I'm exhausted and dripping with sweat within 5 minutes.

I'm breaking up with summer. I've been so out of practice too! We'll just have to do it by nightfall.
Even at night it's still a balmy 90 out. Summer just needs to go away for a couple years...
Don't do it.  Seriously.  Avoid the 100 degree weather. Hoop in the evenings or the mornings before or after the hot weather.  Drink LOTS of water. Find shade.  Heat can make you sick. I had an uncle that almost died from it when I was a teenager.  Avoid the hot part of the day at all costs.
Find an indoor hooping space?  If you're a member of the YMCA/YWCA, or have a community center with a big conference room near you, they'll usually let you use the big studios or centers as long as no one else is using them.  Escape the heat!  And if you can't, just wait until nightfall, and be sure to slather on the bugspray!

I was performing at Kanrocksas this past weekend and the weather was so hot in Kansas. The worst part was the platforms I was dancing on were painted black so they were even hotter. All I could do was drink tons of water and take a break after 3-4 songs. Keeping myself cool with a hand fan and getting out of the sun every so often. But I always brought more water than what I thought I needed and I would drink through it in no time. I also noticed that having a healthy diet will also affect how long you can dance at a time. Eating properly before you dance, and having a snack as you practice will give you more energy as well.

The university I attend has a giant open gym sectioned off - a track on  the outside for runners, and space in the center for other athletics - maybe a school or gym near you has available space :)

It's too hot here in Florida to hoop outside, the heat from the sun and ground were melting my hoops. It was suggested to switch to HDPE or polypro hoops since they're better suited for heat than the standard black tubing from Lowe's. I don't hoop outside in the sun anymore 'cause I was getting really sick and could only last about 15 minutes. I had to break down and buy a gym membership; now I'm back to hour sessions!!! ^.^

I hope you find a solution that works for you!

hdpe has a high heat resistance, polypro does not.

Oh! Thanks for letting me know! <3

Same problem here!! I live in NC and by the thermometer, it's over 100 degrees. And that's in the shade. :(
