i just got my hoopnotica travel hoop(pink and gold) on saturday....yesterday and today are really the first days where i was able to actually hoop. (starting to get the hang of it..loving it)

today i noticed that the screws keep coming loose and i have had to tightened them twice in the same session....is that normal?

ive been working on pelvic control and taking the hoop from waist to hips and back up if that makes a difference.

also. my pink tape tore already, and theres some scratching in the gold next to the screws and ive only been using it on the carpet for two days.....so how long exactly do these hoops last without looking too horrable.

Bummer, contact hoopnotica, they have a hotline. Mine came loose too and now rattles horribly. Its not going to stay pretty long, try hooping off of the concrete, hard surfaces ECT, if its not holding up on carpet either, not much can be done. The shiny tape on there is very easy to scratch. Good luck and happy hooping.

The screws on mine come out every time it gets used. After 15 minutes you have to screw them back in again because they'll get caught in your hair and scratch your skin if they come out while you're hooping. From what I've heard, this is pretty common, it's just how the hoops are made. It's too bad, since they're so easy to carry around. The thing is though that if you coil up an infinity/figure-8 style hoop, it's really not that much harder to travel with than the travel hoop. So there's really not that big of an advantage with the 5-segment design vs. infinity style. I'd say just keep working with it until you're ready for a smaller hoop, and when you get to that point don't go with hoopnotica, since their regular hoops are super hard to coil down. Get an infinity style one from a seller on etsy or make it yourself.

Contact them...they have GREAT customer service!!!

thanx guys. its not too much of a big deal. i have a small pen style screwdriver and i can just tighten them...i wear my hair up so im not worried about getting it stuck....yet.

it will be ok untill i can get a troo hoops hoop....or i can find a giveaway and win one :)

my next hoop purchase will be some minis so i can work with those while im too sore/bruised to hoop, it almost kills me to take a day off because it hurts to hoop

Also i make a big hoop that turns into twin mini trick hoops! https://www.facebook.com/LuvHoopz

oh wow. i was just thinking i wish i had some mini hoops to play with....when  i get the money to get a new hoop i want one of those!

Yeah i got the same one and it got messed up quick! The buttons came loose and they got REALLY hard to take apart like almost impossible after 3 weeks of using it! The tape getting messed up is normal for any hooper! Every time you drop your hoop the tape gets messed up more! If you ever want a new custom hoop you should check out my web page https://www.facebook.com/LuvHoopz And also your first hoop will get trashed pretty quick!

ALso i just want to be clear im NOT bashing on hoopnautica! I LOVE their hula hooping instructional videos i just think they need different connectors for the travel and break down hoops!

hmm, if you're looking for a different kind of decent travel hoop that folds into pieces check out www.pixiehoops.com

I bought one from there and there's no screws in it to come loose! I'm not too sure where you're from but I know that they ship throughout Canada for free as well :) and the tape on mine has stoop up pretty good to the wear and tear of multiple beginner hoopers.

Hi Natasha,

If you want a different style of travel hoop, I make infinity style hoops that fold into a figure 8 and fold in half. No need to worry about screws or tape being ruined.

Here's a video of how they work if you are curious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgtuyyOB5Cs

And if you're the DIY type, I have a DVD on how to make your own :)
