did they feel kind of flimsy when hula hooping? and they had the glow n the dark tape?

Yea they were flimsy, came with various styles of tape but the one I was looking at was black and rasta colored

hmm... i think i might have the one you are talking about... and you could see through them? My hoop I bought was from this little shop and the ladies who made them were from Calgary, they do Hot Hooping Classes! Sound familiar? Sorry, I just cannot remember the name of the tubing, but i'm pretty sure I have one so it wouldn't be hard for me to figure out for you  :)

Is it PPE I wonder? It's pretty flexible and thin. You can almost see through it, translucent for sure!

yeah, sounds like polypro for sure.  could be HDPE but that's not as translucent or flexible...

Hello!  I was happy to come across your posting.  Good question.  I bought two HDPE (not as toxic in the manufacturing from what I have heard) but they are, as another person wrote, more rigid.   I am curious to try the PPE hoops.  The Lakota use reeds/grasses which made me wonder if bamboo can be soaked and made into a hoop.  If you ever come to San Francisco I highly recommend Stefana Serafina at Hoop the Flow.

Ive seen bamboo hoops on the net but never in person! I have an extremely odd obsession with bamboo so I definitely remember wanting one when i saw them. can't quite remember where tho?

I think maybe in the Phillipines?  There is a house that I used to pass often that had a whole bamboo forest around it.  Bamboo of all thicknesses.  Amazing!  I will keep you all posted.  I wonder if it can be soaked and made into a hoop.  Bye for now!
