there was a discussion on her awhile back about bamboo hoops and somebody had posted pics of them, so they can definitely be made!

It's Celeste that makes those hoops (along with her sisters) and she works out of Yoga Down Studios in Calgary.  The studio will put you in contact with her if you want to order one, or she has them for sale before her classes.

Thank you thank you! I met her and she was just such a wonderful lady! My hoop got stolen :( I bought one from her on the Friday, and it was taken that night! I went back and she gave me a discount on another one. I was hoping she had an e-mail. I wanted to thank her for making my Shambhala so much better. I was pretty bummed about not having that magical hoop!
