Okay well I tried to make a pair of mini twins last night. It is so hard to get them the same size! They are getting progressively smaller because I tried to keep trimming them juuuuuuuuust a little to make them the same size, but then i would have to trim the other one more, etc. is there a secret for getting twins the same size? how do you measure the hoops circumference? I tried running a measuring tape around the circumference but apparently its not accurate because the hoops slightly different sizes. one is about 1/4" bigger, not visually apparent but you can really feel it when youre spinning them.

any tricks or tips? thanks guys!!!

Cut the first one and then measure the second one off of that one. Line up the end of your tubing and then slide you hands along it holding both together and when you reach the other end, cut it to match. ; )

Sometimes they won't look the same size when finished if they are rounded a bit differently. They ARE the same size but just slightly different shapes. If you hold them next to each other with the coupling in the same spot than usually they are the same shape. Hooping wise it doesn't make a difference if they are slightly off.

wow... cant believe i didnt think of that. that sounnds way easier, LOL!

thanks so much safire!! i'll post a pic when theyre done and taped up :D
No worries hun, it took me awhile to think of it too when I first started making twins.

such an old post, but i'm having the same issue!! lol  every time i follow the same steps as you laid out, i STILL cannot get them to be close enough to the same size...  and i find this frustrating when i'm trying to make the globey thing...  (yes, super technical term.. if you can enlighten me on that, i would be forever grateful!  hahaha)

Make sure that if you are making more than two hoops of the same size, that you always measure all of them from the first one you cut. If you use the second one to measure and cut the third, the third to cut the fourth, etc, you will be introducing any errors in measurement into the whole series of hoops.
