Hallo! I am a new hooper. I've been hooping for 4 days, i really like it. I am working on getting the hoop to travel up and down my body. I can get it to my knees and hoop like that fine, but i have a hard time getting it to stay at my lower back and getting it too my chest, advice? :O. Ohh, and my hop is a little big nd weighted, but i sometimes feel like it goes too slow.. how do i deal with that? I feel like i can't make it go fast enough to keep it up.. Any other tips about tricks and walking around and such would be awesome. Thanks :3

Those are all normal questions to have after 4 days! Just keep practicing and your body will get used to the movements. Search for tutorials on youtube, there are great ones for core hooping. Also check out hoopnotica's 1st dvd, they cover everything you're asking about on that dvd. Be patient with yourself, don't expect to be able to get it up from your knees or up to your chest in the first week! I think it took me around 6 weeks to get my core hooping down from knees to neck and all the transitions.

I'll give you some advice about getting it from waist to chest - can you comfortably chest hoop with your arms in? It's easier at first to stick your arms in and get into chest hooping (or shoulder hooping) than to try to shimmy it up with your arms up. Even if you can't shoulder hoop yet, you can stick your arms in while it's on your waist and then bump it up to your neck, just bypass the chest area.

Good luck! Keep on practicing! :-)

Something that  helped me get the hoop up to my chest when first started was imagining i was with all my girl friends and we were doing the chest pop dance! And exaggeration is your friend =]

Good Luck -Lexz
