Permalink Reply by Jessi on June 11, 2012 at 12:14pm I like to hoop to Pretty Lights, lots of electro-funkyness and beat changes! Why dont you try downloading Spotify its a free streaming music program. You can listen to full albums and make playlists and they have pretty much every song ever. The downside is you can only listen on your computer and cant burn cds or anything but its a good way to listen to an album before you decide to purchase it. You can also find a song you like and the program will make a radio station based on the song with a bunch of similar songs so you can discover new artists and tracks.

Permalink Reply by Jessi on June 11, 2012 at 12:38pm You can but you have to pay for it, I think there is a 30 day free trial though. The free one is for the computer only. You can get Pandora on your phone for free its a streaming radio app. You either type in an artist and it will play a bunch of songs from that artist and similar artist or pick a style of music and let it build you a station. You cant just listen to a album or make playlists but its good for finding new music.

Permalink Reply by Autumn Rose on June 11, 2012 at 4:36pm Beats Antique sounds like it'd be right up your alley. They really know how to use whomps tastefully :) Balkan Beat Box is another great one, and, of course, Thievery Corporation for some trance-type music. I actually just posted a journal on here about an awesome band called Guano Island. Not exactly dubstep but definitely funky and worth checking out. I bet you'd like Wookiefoot, too. I'm not sure what you already have, but I could talk music like this all day so feel free to message me and we can exchange knowabouts :)
Permalink Reply by Autumn Rose on June 11, 2012 at 4:41pm Oh! and I HAVE to add Here Come the Mummies (and yes, they all dress up as mummies) for some really nitty, gritty, down and dirty funk. I saw this band at a small music festival in my hometown. Hands down, the best band at Big Spring Jam the year they came. Phenomenal, even. All eyes that fall on this must, must, must look them up.

I like Robyn's Body Talk CD.

Emancipator
Random Rab
Ana Sia
... (so many more, if you need more ideas ask again!)

if your into rock, The Dead, Government Mule, and Alman Brothers Band are good for hooping. Especially on their jam outs
