I bought my first hoop about a year ago now, I really need a new smaller hoop. I don't have any money to spend right now since I lost my job awhile ago and have had no luck finding a new one. Can anyone help?

Depending on what kind of hoop you have, you could always cut the one you already have so it's smaller. If it's collapsable, you would need to do the same to both sides so that it would still collapse evenly. If it's not collapsable, then it would be really easy to trim it down a couple inches. Good luck!
if it is a hoop that somebody made for you and you know what the tubing size is and the tubing type you could cut the tape at the joint, use a hairdryer to soften the ends and pull the connector out of one side, on the side without the connector in it you can cut the tubing off to make it the size you want it and then reheat and reinsert the connector. You'll have a small gap in the tape but I wouldn't think it would be very noticeable if you are able to make a clean cut in the tubing. If you can't find someone with a pvc cutting tool you could probably use a saw. But it depends on the type of hoop tubing you have if this will work, if its the black tubing type it will work well! If its polypro, hdpe. or a hoop from the tubing that body hoops uses I wouldn't try it. You might also try calling around to an irrigation company in your area..there is one by me that will sell cut lengths of tubing for cheap and they have the correct connectors too, if you don't want to spend the money to buy fancy tapes right now you could use electrical tapes...duck tapes works good but its is really hard to remove and gets scratched up easier.
Kortney gave some good advice. Cutting your hoop down would probably be your best option. :)
That is a great idea, and you could use a box cutter if you don't have a pipe cutter or saw. That's how I cut my first bit of tubing when the hardware store didn't have any pipe cutters. You could start by cutting off just a bit of the tubing, not as much as you need to cut off, and then practice on that bit before you do the final cut(s).
I agree. Cut it down if you feel ok with doing it. That's the beauty of homemade hoops, you can change them as you please.
Aww I would just give you a hoop if I lived close to you. I usually sell hoops , but I have ran into people that are really wanting or needing one. I find myself giving away hoops lol for the love of hooping!
Thanks for all the ideas!! I might try to cut mine down

That's what I did when I first needed a smaller hoop. I found it be way easier that I anticipated!

I am raffling off a hoop in the flow challenges group this month: http://www.hoopcity.ca/group/hoopingflowchallenges. You just have to complete the challenge and post about it to enter.
thank you so much for letting me know about your contest!!! I would love to win a hoop.
