The temperatures have dropped and the snow is almost here. Where do you all hoop in the winter time? My home is too small to hoop in without some serious destruction, so that's not an option.
Hooping in the snow seems like it would take all the fun out of it. I don't like being dormant till Spring.... Any suggestions?

i have hooped in the snow and it is a blast. Mittens to keep finger tips warm and water proof pants to stay dry and layers of course. I also asked a club owner if on the off nights, like monday tuesday if i can use the empty space to hoop. he said that was great idea. If you are a member at a gym they may let you use the empty group excerise space. If not a member is if you could pay them 5 bucks of something per use, some places have a punch card system get 10 punches for a price kind of thing. Church rec halls may be. Volunteer time to help out exchange for use of the space. I figured out at the end of winter to practice laying down and foot hoop and arm hoop on the floor.
Someone recently suggested to me a great idea - rent out a racquetball court! Which usually requires a gym membership, but could definitely work. I'm in Wisconsin so I feel your pain! It's already pretty crappy outside and I haven't been able to hoop :(
Try your local rec department. They usually have indoor basketball courts that you can use for free if no one is doing the other kind of hooping.
I'm going to try this! We have one not too far away...
I have a gym membership to be able to use their group exercise room. If you decide to go this route, make sure you are upfront with them about what your intentions are, because some gyms don't like you bringing in your own equipment because of liability issues. Also, this is a great way to network!! Bring extra hoops if you have them..people at the gym seem to be more apt to come up and ask to hoop with you than the average bear on the street or at the park!!
Yeah, be sure to check first-- my gym won't let anyone in their empty rooms. (Boo hoo!)
What!? How rude! haha my gym lets me in their group exercise room and the girls that work there watch me from their front counter on a video camera they have in there haha. Surprisingly no one other than the employees have asked to hoop or about hooping at all.
I discovered that while I don't have much room for my larger hoops indoors, smaller sizes are perfect-I can still dance around w/out crashing into things. Plus it adds a bit of a challenge to relearn all the tricks I know for a smaller hoop
im looking for somewhere now... if anyone is near the south burbs of chicago (i80 and Harlem Ave) let me know!
If you have a YMCA near you, you can usually rent out rooms for a small fee...or check out school gyms! Sometimes they'll let you use them for practice :)
Thankfully I have a large garage attached to my apartment building that I can hoop in whenever I want. It even has high enough ceilings that I can do just about anything (except for toss tricks).

Everyone has given some great suggestions. Another one you can consider is your local college (it is even better if you are currently enrolled). A lot of times they have exercise rooms or dance rooms that are unsed during portions of the day. They may also have large conference rooms or the student union (central hang out area) for students that you could use to hoop. I hoop before class in our union all the time... I have actually sold a hoop because of it. :)
I just tried this at Tufts b/c I live about 2 minutes away from them and they have a "Dance Lab," which is a performance space attached to a practice space for their dance students and groups. I got a big fat NO because I'm not a "member of the Tufts community." Maybe I can have better luck at a community college.

I also belong to a gym, but it's Planet Fitness so there are no exercise rooms :( I'm brainstorming all I can because it's starting to get chilly up here in New England... I see some snow hooping in my future.
