OK so I just made my first set of mini hoops and I don't have the lightest idea of what to do with them. I got the 2 beat weave down and that's about it. I'm also finding it hard to find tutorials on the web. I thought I would make this forum and ask you guys what your favorite tricks to do with minis are and also what you think are the main staples I should know.

Using a standard hoop comes pretty easy to me, but minis are a whole different ballgame!  I own 3 sets of minis, one of which are leds, but they are a HUGE challenge for me to learn new things with.  I have mastered the chase weave and thread the needle, but that's it.  Watching tutorials doesn't seem to help me master anything new.  GOOD LUCK!!!

this is SaFire's video for the three beat weave....THIS HELPED ME ALOT!!! i had such a tough time with it. and im still learning to be comfortable with it.

and this is another fun move that i found...and it has also helped me with other isolations and variations with my minis. but she has a looooong introduction teaching this move with poi first....so if you wanna skip it til you get to the mini hooping part...it starts at about 7:52 into the video.

Does anyone know any good tutorials on the windmill trick? I think it's supposed to be a pretty simple trick but for some reason i just cannot get my wrist to move in the right direction >:( Is it just like the 2 beat weave but over your head??

It's a 2 beat weave, but one hand is doing a forward weave, and one hand is going backwards. I've been working with minis for almost a year, and it took that long for it to finally click just about a month ago!
I would really look into SaFire's minis class. It's a bit expensive if you have a tight budget, but has been SOOO helpful for me!! I'd say just practice practice practice. walk down the road and just spin them, and eventually you will start to feel more comfortable with them. Like I said, I've been working with them for almost a year and I'm really just starting to feel like I have any sort of "flow" with them

I agree with Jessica. I struggled with minis until I started using SaFire's class. It is definitely worth the money.

Agreed!!!!! I've been working with minis for awhile now, and SaFire's classes are definitely worth the money!!!!!!

I need some help with minis as well! So I'll be following this thread. hoopdeedoo.com has helped me alot with twins and some moves might be able to translate to minis I have found. Hope that helps a little. I found this video to be pretty awesome as well but haven't quite figured anything out in it yet haha, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb_cc6ABnQ0

Are there any specific minis tutorials you guys are interested in? I've been thinking about making some.

The fountain trick that's a poi move but I've seen people do it with minis, that would be awesome if you made a tutorial for that because I keep trying to figure that out.

haha which is funny because I looked up on youtube to try to figure out what that trick was called you it was your video I found, how ironic!

Hahah, that's great. I actually made that video the same night I figured out the trick, I understand it much better now and I think I could explain it ok. I'll get on that tutorial soon!

That's awesome can't wait to see it thanks so much! :)
