It seems every time I try, my wrist buckles and I end up hitting myself. I don't know if my hoop is too heavy, since I have weak wrists due to some repetitive stress injuries. I'm not sure what PSI it is, but it's 3/4" pex, about 35". I feel like I should be able to do this but my wrists buckle so much. I can't even do a helicopter. Is there ways I can perhaps strengthen my wrists? Or should I try a lighter hoop? I've been debating whether or not to get a polypro. I know people say it's for more advanced hoopers or whatever, but I'm sick this pain when I try to hoop.

Permalink Reply by Denise Cervola on December 15, 2011 at 8:16pm I have a 1/2 inch 125 psi hoop that is very nice for off the body moves! It is a little light for body hooping for beginners so I made it larger, I also made myself minis with this tubing. =)

Definitely try a lighter hoop (and don't get fooled by that 'advanced hoopers" silliness, lighter hoops are fine for everyone).
Wrist flexibility and strength is a good thing. There are lots of good exercises, and if you've suffered RSI, you probably already know some. Google for wrist exercises to find videos and better descriptions than I could do here!
