i want to start juicing but as i am trying to learn more....im wondering if juicing is really worth it. is it any healthier to juice then to have a juice smoothie. does it get rid of the fiber? is it a ton of work? any info i would be grateful for! xo

I guess it depends on what you're doing it for. If you're trying to lose weight then it is better to get a juicer to remove the fibers, but if you just want to have a healthy beverage than I don't think it's a big deal if you just do it in the blender. I chop up carrots really small and throw them in with some orange juice, really delicious. there are tons of good recipes out there if you google it.

Whenever I juice I feel like I am wasting money. I put in about 8 pounds of fresh organic fruits and veggies and get about 2 cups worth. Then I look at the grocery bill and feel ripped off. I much rather saute, roast, grill or eat them raw with food than to juice. I always feel I need to chew my food in order to feel full. Because drinking a smoothie never makes me feel satisfied. I guess as long as you are adding more veggies and fruit into your diet you are good to go.

I always feel rejunivated after Juicing, to me i always feel amazing after. You don't have to get rid of the pulp either. You can add it to soup and baking and cooking. I used to feel bad about juicing and throwing the fiber away, but after reading up some more about other ways of using the fiber, you can use it in muffins & cakes, to stir fry and soups to pancakes.

i was very hesitant on juicig as welll.. but i feel so goood after i drink it.. i dont drink it all the time.. but i try to have a good juice in the morning before any meal. I feel it going through my entire body(especially the ginger and lemon combo).. itts kind of addicting. But its a bitch cleaning the juicer somedays.. and if i have no time, i dont do it..cause the cleaning process is another 10 minutes..i think it awesome though.. hope this helps ;)

Hi,
I prefer fruit to veggies. I have a magic bullet blender that I purchase on sale at Kohl’s (30% off when they have a sale) and I use it all the time to make healthy smoothies. It works very well with fresh or frozen fruit, yogurt, granola, wheat germ and ice. It is a snap to clean and takes up very little space.
it depends what kind of juicer you have. if you have a centrifugal juicer then you arent juicing much. a lot of times the best is to have a masticating one (samson/ omega) or a dr. walker juicer. but they are mad expensive. anyhow by juicing you can absorb more of the minerals than eating all that food as a whole. plus who eats so many pounds of food at a time.
great info! thank you! i will keep looking for a juicer but am not going to run out and buy one now....i will keep doing green and fruit smoothies! :)
