Ever since I played with someone else's mini LED's last month, I knew I had to have my own. After 3 days of price research I managed to find US suppliers for all the parts and kept it at about $50 for the pair. The tubing was a rescue from the trash (two kiddie hoops!), the wire I had already from setting up a home theater, the switches were from Radio Shack (two for $2), everything else was from online. There are 10 slow color change LEDs and 5 Firefly Strobes per mini, powered by a 1/2AA 3.6V lithium (smaller and lighter). The fireflies came from Lighted Lifestyle and I LOVE them! They are so pretty and were very reasonably priced compared to other suppliers I found online, plus they are in the US. I can't wait until it gets dark later and I can play outside! I'll be bringing these beauties to Dragon Con next week as well - yay!

I also made the big hoop in the photo from a Prod Mod kit last year.

How cute! Mama & babies!
I am so impressed. I've really wanted to get into making LED hoops, but they're so intimidating and I don't want to make a bad product. Any tips?
