i have been wanting to try this! I like hooping with a heavy weight big hoop, but i'd like to try something similar to a polypro. I love my big heavy hoop but, I'd like to switch it up sometimes, too. How were you able too remove the water from the hoop without damaging it?

My hoop was just held together by a sticker when I took that off it was a normal connection with a little connecter inside. I was able to pry it apart rather easily and dump out all the water. I don't know how well it is going to stick without some tape but it works for now. My first one I had was stapled together so I poked a hole and drained it.

I bought a couple kids hoops from the dollar store and they're awesome! The tubing is very responsive and ultra light. Mine are only ~26" so I mostly do off body and minis moves with them, but if I found some slightly larger in diameter I could definitely see using one as a regular hoop.

At one point I was totally loving my re-taped Hello Kitty -hoop. It's 30" diameter and taped with black electric tape and with hockey tape on the inside. I really like the size and the feel of it. It was The Hoop that got me to find my flow for the first time! :) And I like the fact that it didn't cost more than 8 euros.

I also have one about 26" that had water in it. I drilled a tiny hole to it with sissors so the water came out drop byy drop. I haven't re-taped it yet but I will do it because it seems to add the stability of the hoop. It will be a great off-body hoop.

Yes! Mine is about 33" and for the most part I love it. My only complaint is that I had to gaff tape it like crazy to get it to stay together because it has 3 (what used to be) flashing lights on it and the connections aren't very reliable around them, especially when leg hooping. But that hoop has been with me through thick and then. I love the fearless attitude you can have with a kids' hoop because it was so cheap. I can try and fail with crazy tricks or bring it to a festival and let strangers play with it without a second thought. I do want to get one of those super sparkly water hoops though. Does anyone have any pointers as to how to get the water out without destroying the hoop?

I learned to hoop with kids hoops. The ones I used are 34 inches or so. And I have a 24 inch one that I use in small space for arm stuff. They're great for practicing and really cheap.

Mine has a regular connector, like a hoopdance hoop, so I just cut the sparky film off and opened it and poured the water out.
