Hey Hoopers!
So my Hoop Troupe has this gig coming up.. We are performing a piece in the Winter Anime Fashion Show, one of my best friends is putting on. She has assigned a body paint artist to paint us up for the show! I'm super excited, I've never had my whole body painted before.
My question is .. Have you ever hooped in full on body paint? Is there a type of paint that works best for skin, particularly when you are dancing and sweating?
I am using my sanded LED Hoop for the show, and wonder if I should worry about the paint getting stuck in the roughness?

Here are some examples of his work, so you can see what I'm talkin bout!
His name is Richard Newman..

Maybe ask if you and do some test runs with the paint on. Nothing special, just get a couple strips of color on you and hoop for a while. Ask if he's done any work with painting dancers for performances, see if you can get that paint or whatever used on your troupe.
mmm yeah agreed, the only way to be 100% sure is to test it and see what exactly what will happen.
whoa those are simply amazing!
Wow!!! I have no advice, but his work is amazing & I hope you post pictures/video afterwards!!! :)
I am hoping to get some good video and pictures!! There are supposed to be a ton of photographers there.. :D
i dont really know what to say but i hope it all works out for you :)
I've done it and it's a challenge, especially if you start to sweat. They have a setting spray that you can get at Sephora. I highly recommend investing in that. I'm told Ben Nye has one also. Our paint was all black and white paint for a Maori inspired fire photo shoot and video on/in the Dan River. The artist was Scott Fray of LivingBrush. It was an incredible experience. Good luck with yours. And stay warm!

Moon River! Hahahaha!
ooh, good tip! I have been wanting an excuse to go to sephora anyway.. ;)
Thanks!
Your pictures are awesome!
Can you wear a jacket over it without rubbing it off?
bad time of year to be doing bodypaint gigs.. lol
Wooow his work looks amazing!!! That sounds like a blast.
Once the paint is dry is shouldnt rub off too easily, but once you start sweating Im not sure how it will be. Good advise to test it if possible.

Cant wait to see photos/videos!
