who cares? materialism shouldn't run your hooping life.

Materialism shouldn't rule your hooping life but this thread is not about "Hey look at me and my big-ass fancy collection of hoops," it's about "My hoop stash has expanded to reflect my journey and changes in my style as I discovered how I move."

The most recent post on the "How many hoops do you own?" thread was from '09, so I'll keep this topic going. I'm sure people's collections have changed since then, haha.

3-pack of 31" blank UV orange for multi-hooping

29" blank natural w mustache print tape at connector. My first polypro, which someone gave to me. Heavier than my other hoops, so it's my practice hoop.

28" PE, sparkly pink deco w white hockey tape, turquoise tape at five evenly spaced points. My go-to fire hoop for Quick Wicks.

28" blue-white-green and orange LED. My "hardcore" hoop.

I also had three 34" that I donated to my high school's P.E. department. :)

My first one was 1" tubing, about 42" big. It was way too heavy and big for me, and I started making my own!

Now I mainly use a 3/4" tubing 38" hoop that's pink and green with black gaff tape criss-crossed on it,

a 3/4" tubing 40" hoop thats white and pink zebra striped with cheetah print tape spiraled around,

a 1/2" tubing 36" hoop that's light blue and white spiraled, with bits of purple in it,

a 1/2" tubing 33" hoop that's shades of blues and yellows. it's lined with lime green gaff tape.

I have 2 pairs of minis, 20" (fire opal tape) and 22" (yellow, red, and orange duct tape).

I also have LED hoops from moodhoops. .Muse minis, a pink custom 33" and a peacock rainbow custom 36".

My favorites are the 20" minis and the 36" hoops. Right now I'm waiting on a Helix to arrive in August for me. :)

Hm, with moodhoops.. I've had a couple battery issues, but I contacted them and they sent me replacements for free with priority shipping. On my oldest, one of the LEDs stopped working in it, but they fixed it up for free and it was back in my hands in less than a week. One of my customs (all pink), when I got it, not all of the LEDs were the same tone of pink. I contacted them about it and they were happy to fix it up for me. They said something along the lines that nobody had wanted a 1-color hoop (other than all white) and they now have new rules in their shop about matching colored LEDs up very well. I sent it in to them, and once again, had it back in my hands in less than a week, and it was perfect! I would highly recommend them as a company. They make great quality products and they really aim to please!

I actually ordered the Helix as a birthday present for myself! I ordered in May to have it in early August, but it's going to be a couple weeks late. I still have a 6 week waiting period. I'm really excited to have it, though :)

it was a little over a year old. i don't have it anymore, it's now in the hands of one of my friends, and as far as i know, she hasn't had any problems with it :)

that's just how long the wait time for the helix is. when i ordered, i was under the impression there was an 8 week shipping period (what the website says) but really it's more like 12-14 weeks.

to my knowledge, they are a new, small company (last i heard, there were about 6 workers) and they have a lot of hoop orders to fill on a really complicated, technology-based hoop. they're looking to make everything perfect, instead of going super fast, but shipping hoops out with potential errors. i'm order number 449, and i saw on facebook earlier that someone in the 280s just received theirs today.

I think this is a fun topic!
I have Several everyday hoops Ive made in PVC and Polypro in all different sizes! Just pick up whatever I'm in the mood for that day and play!!
Then I have 6 LEDs, 38-rainbow Cosmic, 34-Atomic, 29-Atomic Pro, 29-Astral Aura, and 20" Astral Minis!! I love them all!! And I will be getting a new one soon!!! :-)
My minis are from Astral hoops. There Aura Minis they have 25 LEDs in each and are 20 inches in Polypro!

My first was a 42" 165 psi hoop from hoopnotica.  I found it to be too big since I'm only 5'1" but couldn't afford another online.  So, I learned to make my own to experiment with sizes.  My 2nd was a 38" 100 psi 3/4" tubing hoop..but too light too soon.  LoL...so, I immediately made a 38" 165" 3/4" tubing hoop.  This one was great for about a month.  About that time I found it to be too big & heavy to work on isolations, so I made a 35" 165 psi 3/4" tubing hoop.  I used this one for about another month and then ordered my first LED.  It took about 3 weeks to get used to the light weight 35" LED.  But, now I absolutely love the lighter weight and have a hard time going back to the heavy over taped hoops.  All my previous hoops had both glitter and gaffer tape.  I just made a new 35" 100 psi 3/4 in tubing untaped hoop hoping it can be a good practice hoop without having to use my LED all of the time but it still feels heavy in comparison to the LED I've been using.  Yipes...I'm thinking I need to order a poly pro now or some other lightweight tubing hoop.  Not sure what others there are besides the poly pro...guess I'll have to look around the bulletins here to see what's out there besides the standard 165 or 100 psi polyurethane irrigation tubing from the garden stores.

oops..I meant "polyethylene" tubing.  hahahahaha XD
