I was looking through a bunch of blogs when I found this link:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispP...

If you scroll towards the bottom there are these things called flexible light bars. They come in a bunch of different LED colors and different lengths. Would this sort of thing work for an LED hoop? I have no idea how they would connect/what to do about batteries. Or would it just be better to go with one of the kits if I wanted to make an LED hoop?

I have never tried it but I'm curious. They all say 12VDC power. So you need 12 volts of power to light them. Unless you are using giant tubing you can't really get a 12v battery in the hoop. You could, maybe, use several 3V batteries - but then you have 4 batteries. Not even sure if that would work. You would not want to put them together in the hoop as this would create a huge blank space and throw of the weight considerable - so then you need to wire them so that they are evenly distributed inside the hoop. I may some day buy one and try it out. For now I will stick with the method I use and start with speaker wire and single led's and go ahead and let my finger tips bleed.

Thanks-I didn't even notice the voltage needed...whoops!
