Hey y'all!

I am about to buy a MH LED but I'm not sure which tubing to get...I have both hdpe and polypro non-led hoops at home but I always end up playing with just my pp.  I am nervous about getting an LED in pp though because of the higher risk of cracking and what not.  I also travel ( locally and internationally) with my hoops.  Any guidance would be much appreciated! I am planning on getting the 33" OD hoop in 5/8" OD tubing.  I've heard a lot of people say "if you hoop with polypro, stick with polypro." Should I be concerned going back to hdpe after hooping with polypro? I do a lot of off the body tricks, jumpthroughs, passes, reversals etc.  Please help me!! I want to get this LED asap so any advice will help, thank you!!

I would go with the polypro; the risk of tube breakage isn't sooo severe, unless you think the hoop will be subject to cold temp/ hitting the ground a lot.

Also moodhoops tend to be a little on the heavy side (not too bad), i think the $25 polypro upgrade is worth it.

what's considered "cold'? Just wondering because I live in MN, and most def want to be able to hoop on those cooler fall days, without worrying about my hoop cracking..

Thanks!!

HDPE, it is much more sturdy, polypro is lighter but it cracks easier when it has the weight of LEDs and batteries in it

I went for the polypro, my friend got hdpe. My regular polypro has never cracked and i've never actually hit my led hard enough for it to even glitch. It might be cause its so small... but also the polypro isnt as light as your regular polypro day hoop, so if youre not ised to the weight of polypro youll still be able to body hoop with it right away

I got the polypro and mine just cracked and I dont know why :( I dont know if i'd go for the hdpe or not, but i definately wouldnt get the 5/8" polypro tubing on a hoop that is bigger than 30" (my mistake, its really wonkey)

Oh nooo. What size was it? This makes me sad

From what I have heard, hdpe and polypro are fairly similar in weight. I believe the main difference is that one has more of a springy feeling while the other is more rigid. Here is the thread that explains the differences. http://www.hoopcity.ca/forum/topics/polypro-vs-hdpe-under-the

I have the 33" MH polypro and I've dropped it at least a hundred times, and been pretty rough with it in general.  No sign of damage yet!  I tried someone else's MH, HDPE, and it was so heavy!  I would get the pp, even if it does crack eventually, the time you have with it will be so much better.

I have an HDPE LED MoodHoop (in 5/8") and two Cosmic Hooper LED polypros in 3/4" and I prefer my polypros for the most part. I've heard people say as long as your hoop is small enough (33" or smaller) that breaks/reversals with the HDPE are fine and they don't mind it. My LEDs are all the same diameter (36) but my HDPE is heavier and I tend to use it more for body rocking type hooping.
