Now that it's may it's offically festival season! This year I will be doing more than ever at festivals performing, teaching, and providing visual art (not movement art). My diliema is I'm working at a major festival at the end of may that requires lots of energy. Moving art structures, dancing, carrying lots hoops and fire safety equipment. I need to keep going from afternoon to very late at night/early morning. I hate energy drinks because of the negative effects they have on the body and the harmful chemicals in them. I was wondering if you wonderful hoopers have tried any natural remedies for an energy boost that has helped you in those hot summer festivals nights. Or if you have any energy boosting or saving tips.

I would suggest eating small light snacks or meals and staying hydrated, water or a sport drink maybe. After all it’s going to be hot you said, just be careful not to over hydrated by drinking tons of water. Most of all just take care of yourself before and during the event. I sort of think you might get a natural energy boost with all the excitement and endorphins going around. For staying cool go to wal-mart and by a water bolted spray fan, maybe take extra battiers. I went to a concert last summer and it was super hot 100s. and the spry fan came in handy. I am not an expert just some suggestions.

have you ever tried yerba mate? it's pretty energizing, and not rough on your body like energy drinks.

I take vitamin B complex everyday! Look it up super energizing, I also love organic ginger :-) sometimes I'll sip on the wild strawberry energy  crystal light mixed in a big bottle of water also!

I take b complex for energy too. Makes your pee like highlighter yellow though haha.

Also peppermint oil can boost enegry levels and alertness. And of course drink lots of water.

i second the b vitamins! i take these everyday and feel great! definitely take these before noon, or you will be up late.

Maybe this is too obvious, but... coffee?

Thanks for all the advice I"ll have to try out the vit. B and peppermint oil sounds like it'll help me lots.
