Hi! I think 1/2 in. poly (irrigation) tubing 125 psi would be a great new hoop for you! It's the lightest kind of irrigation tubing that still gives you enough momentum in your earlier stages of your process. I would say a 36 in. hoop might be good for you because it's still big enough to have enough time and space in the hoop, but not too small. Once you're more comfortable with lighter smaller hoops, I definitely suggest polypro tubing. It's super bouncy, light, and responsive and will teach you so much about the way you move and hoop. HDPE is also good, just not as responsive. Just for reference, I started with a big hoop about 38-40 in. > 36. in 125 psi > 33 in. polypro > 30 in. polypro meow <3 I hope this helps! As for pipe size and weight, lighter is easier for off-body because it requires less grip strength and doesn't bruise your hands as quickly. How light you go will depend on what materials are in your area, the size of the hoop you make, etc.

If you want to experiment with smaller tubing try checking out the $5 wave hoops at walmart and target. Just remove the water and you are good to go. Not sure about the PSI but it's half inch diameter tubing. I say this in case you aren't quite ready to commit to buying your own 100 ft roll of polyethylene irrigation tubing or product off the internet. Otherwise I suggest polypro tubing!!!
