hey so i am moving to NC , to a town in the middle of nowhere( fuquay varina) , but i will be about 30 minutes from Raleigh i believe?

Can someone tell me what people are like there?

I am coming from a pretty wide background, i was born in europe , lived there for 10 years, moved around in NJ a few times, ended up joining the military when i was 23, and i just got out earlier this year and have been doing a lot of farming and working with bees and chickens and hydroponic/bioponic organic grown herbs and veggies and stuff. i also have dreads, i am a very green, earthy, nature loving person. when i lived in NJ i had dreads as well and i got a lot of negative feed back. here on the west coast its completly different . i love it here . i cant wait to come back. just not here, here. we want to go north. anyways, how are people there? i know noone except for family there. we are mainly moving there to be with family and save some money, plus we have property to expand our little farming hobby, which we really hope to turn into a small business very very soon.

Hey! thanks for posting on my wall! definitely call me when you get out here and want to hang out. I would be happy to introduce you to my spinning friends. I'm part of the Fire Triangle - a fire spinning community that spans central North Carolina. I'm in Raleigh, and you're correct, that's about half an hour away. My parents, however live just maybe 10 or 15 minutes outside of Fuquay in Holly Springs. Also, one of my Fire Triangle friends is living in Fuquay right now and it seems like you guys would probably get along pretty well. I love the community I've found here through hooping and I'm excited to meet you!

Raleigh's artistic and alternative scene is growing greatly and I feel like what myself and my friends do is a big part of that. I think you'll be happy to see what you find here! We're all loving and open people with passions and drives in addition to the desire to play hard at times. We have regular fire jams and hoop jams. I do teach classes and am hoping to get my AFAA certification soon so I can teach in a real studio (as the weather gets colder, it's getting more apparent that doing classes in parks isn't always feasible)

hope to talk to you soon! Here's my phone number- 919-210-5568 and you can find me on facebook- look up Paige LaWall. :)

I also recently moved to NC from NY around the Jacksonville area. It's a bit of a hike from me, but it's all military here and NO hoopers. I plan on heading up that way and would LOVE to meet up with fellow hoopers. It's lonley down here!!!

Come to our hoop jam! We actually have some other hoopers who come from Jacksonville. Perhaps ya'll can car pool together or even start a jam in Jacksonville! I have info to help you do that if you decide you want to.

Girl welcome to the neighborhood! I am in Raleigh and we have a thriving hoop scene here. We have a weekly jam and weekly burns. I teach classes and so do many other people. Contact me and I'll help you find your people!

That would be fantastic! Unfortunately I'm saving up for a new car at the moment since mine died a while ago, so if you had any info for anyone that came up from down around jax that I could car pool with, that would be awesome! Will pitch in for gas of course XD

I wish I could remember their names. I'll poll the people in our group. Are you on facebook? We have a group there called Raleigh Hoop Jam. (My name is Carolyn Mabry there -- they won't let me put Caroleeena because it has three e's. What's up with that!?!)

I'm in Asheville!! Just moved here and I know its not close to Raleigh but if there's anything relatively close im there!

so i have finally settled in , in NC .. kind of. i just dont know ANYONE here except inlaws and its bumming me out. i need to find some hooping cicles around here. i have not even hooped becasue of how much ive been going through adjusting and my anxiety has been totally out the roof. i feel like i need an escape, i need to get back into hooping.

Come play at our hoop jam. We'll help you find your people.
