Anybody else come up with any cleaning solutions that cut through the tough skid marks left by gaffer tape and electrical tape? I am running classes in a church basement with a gleaming white floor. Besides switching all the hoops to all white, is there anyone who has come across something that cleans through well? The magic eraser works ok, but with 8 students in the class, cleaning up afterwards takes so long on your hands and knees. I was hoping for something that would cut through quickly with a mop.
I always carry one of those Magic Erasers when I go to the gym. Takes the gaffer tape marks right off the beautiful suspended wood floors we have. A Dobie pad or any non scratching cleaning pad works, too. The Magic Eraser works best on the walls.
I use Clorox wipes to get rid of the marks.
Good to know! I'll try this for sure. Thanks!
Maybe clear tape would work. I've never used polypro--would that leave marks? My basement ceiling is covered in a collage of colors...it looks like tigers with nailpolish attacked o_o
Polypro doesn't leave marks at all for me!
It's the gaffer tape that leaves marks. PE black tubing might leave marks but everyone covers that with tape.
Thank you so much for the helpful suggestions. It is the gaffer tape for sure that is leaving the heaviest marks to remove. The Magic eraser does work great if you have 1 big mark to get. But if you have a class of 8 newbies, and those hoops are dropping like crazy until they get the technique and the rhythm it takes a LONG time to get down on hands & knees taking all those skid marks off the floor.
I probably should have written that I was looking for something that works in a pail of water and a mop, but I will try the Clorox wipes and see if that is better than the magic eraser. Maybe it is the bleach in the clorox wipes that is effective.
If anyone has a cleaning solution that goes into a pail and works with a mop, I would still appreciate more suggestions there!!
