Does anyone have recommendations on these types of hoops? I've seen the kind that fold and also the kind that come apart - I would love any feedback as I'm thinking about purchasing one :)

Thanks!

Betty Hoops has a good one, but it's the only one I've seen. I believe they are out of Aspen, CO. My friend has a pink one. It's kinda heavy and wobbly.
I have the Hoopnotica one and its light & easy to (dis)assemble.
I have a BodyHoops 'Infinity' Travel hoop. Its very good! Its easy to fold and unfold which you can do quite quickly. Its taped nicely and isn't too overpriced. Also its not one which you have to put all the pieces together, its one that you simply bend into shape.
Thanks for all the replies! Do they feel any different than regular hoops when you are spinning them?
I have an infinity too.
Yep think it's pretty good, though it's not as easy as it seems to get a 'perfect' circle shape- Takes a while to bend it around. Still, it's very convenient for travel and the tape is very pretty so the overall effect is nice.
I have the hoopnotica one and the body hoop infinity hoops. I found the hoopnotica is the easist to travel with(due it is packing so small) but i had problems with the tape, it's foam tape and comes off easily. Also I found the small connector tabs snap off (which means you need to poke a key or something similar into it for it to disconnect) and they can be sharp. Having said that I still really like this hoop and hoop with it all the time. The infinity hoop is weighted so i found I bruised more around the knees and hands. It still packs fairly small, I have a friend who is travelling around Thiland with one now and I don't think she has had any problems. Unfortuanely one day mine came apart at the joint but I had it over a year and used it a fair bit. Also the tape is nice and grippy on it and stays on well. I hope that helps!
Great - all your input is really helpful - I am a collector at by nature - if I'm not careful I will get a hoop of every color and style lol!
I have the hoopnotica hoop, and though the foam tape has amazing grip it comes off so easily. Drop it once and it is scuffed and yucky forever.

Also, the connectors between the segments break quite easily. Mine recently broke and now I have a U instead of a circle. luckily the same happened to another friend, so we've combined the two hoops to make it work... but still quite disappointing considering the money spent to purchase and ship it.
yeah my hoppnotica hoop has also become quite 'rattly' at the joints. Concidering how much it cost it is dissapointing, although I've come to terms with it now, I was quite annoyed when I first bought it. The place I bought my from in the UK have stopped selling them now. I've heard of people just making there own using normal connectors. There's a post about it on tribe where they explain how they have made them.

hopefully that will work!
I've heard lots of feedback on the hoops that come apart - things like the connectors can break, they can be noisy, they can pinch - but I haven't really heard much negative in terms of the infinity style hoops, other than they take up slightly more room, and they do take a bit of working to get back into a nice circle when you open them up.

I have an infinity style, and I'm very happy with it. I made it myself because I had two shorter lengths of 3/4 pvc left, and figured it was worth experimenting - I took the tips I picked up from Tribe and just looking at infinity style hoops, and it worked like a charm. :) And now I know what to do with those odd leftover lengths of pvc!
how did you make the collapsible, where did you find the tips? I'd like to try...
I bought one from Slyk Style Hoops and it is a folding version. I'm pretty happy with it but it is a little bit difficult to bend back into a circle. But it's also a heavy weight hoop so I have a feeling that that may make a difference.
