Hey all! So I have been hooping for almost 2 years now, and just decided to make some twins and have no idea where to begin. If nayone has any advice about starting to spin hoop poi, let me know. I have searched for tutorials online with not much luck. I found one great video about the 3 beat weave, and I'm working on it!
So far I love it and my ARMS HURT. !
Love,
kim

what video did you find about the 3bw?

i can do the 2bw but struggle with the 3

do you need help with making your minis? sizes weights?
I actually already made them and they came out pretty good! The video I found on the 3bw is on youtube and I just searched twin hoops I think..
I bet it was this one:

It's a great vid, but as a poi-challenged person, I found Safire's gradual approach much more helpful. Still struggling, but not completely hopeless anymore!
I would suggest Safire's class.... I want to join as soon as I find the right tubing to make my mini's!!
You might want to join BEFORE you make the hoops since Safire gives a lot of tips on sizes. I made two sets of minis while I waited to join (she was at Burning Man so I got impatient) & now I'd really like to make 2 more sets! I just ordered more tape... keep thinking, "Okay, that's enough hoops!" ...& then...
I am in Safire's twin class, it has lots of great info on hooping with the mini hoops. I ordered my mini po hoops from Slyk Style Hoops (tab on theside). Kym's page may give some ideas.
One more vote for Safire's mini class! Tons of info & ideas there, & not just for the tiny hoops. I've been hooping for about 9 1/2 months now & I find poi style far more challenging than body hooping. Whether it's my wimpy arms or lack of coordination, or probably both, I need all the help I can get! Safire breaks everything down so meticulously, little by little I feel less klutzy (& my arms less sore too!) You're right that there are not many tutorials on youtube for twins... all the more reason to sign up for the class.
I'm exploring twin hooping too. Here's a couple good vids.

Oh and my best advice is to work, work, work your non-dominant arm.
