I just wanted to make a note about how rockin' we all are at hula-hooping.
Sometimes it is hard to remember on a site like hoopcity where some of the talent is just unreal... But the vortex and other of these basic tricks ARE FREAKING COOL!

Just remember when you saw it for the first time... you weren't thinking... wow that person is sloppy at that move where they bring it over their head. It was more...I NEED TO DO THAT! It is amazing!

Just remember that if you are a beginner and you think your tricks suck or something, they don't. They rock.

They rock really hard.

Much love hoopers.

yES!!! for sure ~thank you :)
Thank you for your positive words. It's really true.
I ♥ hoopers! Thanks, Shoes, for sharing your positive vibes with us.
So true!! Thanks for the positive vibes!
You're so right-- it's all too easy to focus so hard on the things you're still trying to achieve that you forget what you CAN do! That's why I've learned to make my daily practice at least half jam, rather than 100% new-trick drills, so that I never lose sight of the joy of it. It also helps you keep your flow going. Rock on! :D
agreed. its so true to start to focus on the execution of tricks than to just get lost in flow. thank you for reminding us all how much hooping rocks :)
Thanks for this! I often get really self-conscious about my skills and focus too much on what I don't know. But what you said is very true!
So true. I'm reminded of this when I see beginner hoopers at a Hoop Jam or the class I'm not attending...waist hooping alone is difficult at first. Sure some take to it quicker than others, but that goes for all moves. Isolations may seem simple to some, and yet others need to put in hours upon hours of practice in order to get the most basic isolation down.

Every(body) is different. :)
This is the perfect forum post! haha thank you for that!
This is awesome! You're awesome! and to add to the vibes, i think all the people on here are really sweet and i feel like i could plop down to dinner with many of you and feel like old friends. Everyone is so kind and supportive of this community. Love you all.

You're all beautiful!!!
aww! nice post. love this! :)
This is a great post. Thanks for bumping it, Lauren :) I don't know when it changed from thinking of myself, "holy crap I can hula hoop on my freakin knees!!!!" to "man, that was sloppy, ugh, dropped the hoop again, can't I keep my arm straight?" etc. I needed the reminder. We are all pretty awesome :D
