I just wanted to make a note about how rockin' we all are at hula-hooping.
Sometimes it is hard to remember on a site like hoopcity where some of the talent is just unreal... But the vortex and other of these basic tricks ARE FREAKING COOL!

Just remember when you saw it for the first time... you weren't thinking... wow that person is sloppy at that move where they bring it over their head. It was more...I NEED TO DO THAT! It is amazing!

Just remember that if you are a beginner and you think your tricks suck or something, they don't. They rock.

They rock really hard.

Much love hoopers.

You are right!  Thanks for that--it is easy to lose perspective.  I had been feeling a bit put out by the expectations I put on myself hooping recently.  Since I picked the hoop up, I'd been like, "I'll be a great hooper once I get such and such a move..."  and then eventually, very eventually, I get it.  But then I'm already feeling inadequate because I can't do the next such-and-such move.  It used to inspire me to push on, but I felt I hit a wall and was like, "Aw man.  At this rate I'll be 80 by the time I accomplish all of my hoop goals..."

I've been perking up again tho.  It's good to push through a wall, but sometimes it's good to take a break, too.

But  you are right!  And thank you!

Thanks for the uplifitng words!  Since I started using my polypro hoop a few weeks ago, some of the moves I had a bit of consistency with aren't as consistent.  It's like I have to relearn a few of them as I adjust to how the new hoop behaves.  That can get to be a downer if I dwell on it.

Your post reminds me that I actually know those moves, even if I'm having to readjust how I execute them with the new hoop.  It also recalls to me that I'm doing things now that I wasn't a month ago, like jumpthroughs.  No way would I have even attempted those B.P. (before polypro).

Thanks again for the encouragement.  We all need a dose of that now and again. :) *hugs*

LIKE.
Hehe, I am constantly telling students, "All you need to do is waist hoop to look badass."

It's true, especially if you are rockin' out.
love this! inspires me to spread the positivity :)

I love it!
